Message:   Jenni,

I am sorry for your loss. I had a somewhat similar experience with my son. I had the triple screen done and it came back as a risk factor for Downs syndrome. I had an ultrasound done that indicated my baby was growing small (shorter limbs than should be for my dates). My doctor informed me this could be indicative of a genetic anomoly. At that point I decided to have an amnio done, I couldn't go through the rest of my pregnancy and not know what we were up against. We went through the Christmas holidays waiting for the results and trying to come to terms with what decision we may have to make based on the results. The results ended up coming up normal, but the story didn't end there. In February of this year on the 13th (after almost a week in the hospital) my son Christian was born. I had developed HELLP syndrome (as I had with my daughter). He hung around for 6th day and at the end of the 6th day he died. It has been the most difficult and saddest time of my life. If you ever need to chat, please feel free to contact me.

Keri
