I have a Henry Appleton, born c 1798 or 1799. Many family researchers have him as the son of Peter Appleton of Clewer, Berkshire. I think he may be the son of Samuel and Ellen Appleton, of Lancashire. My Henry married an Ann or Margaret Ann Harrison. I believe their wedding is listed in St Elphins, Warrington in 1821 and both are listed as 'of this parish."
Ann's parents are Robert and Ann Harrison, who resided in and around Burton Wood and Newton in Makerfield. This couple emigrated to South Australia in 1839. I was wondering if anyone has any information which would aid me in confirming if my Henry was the son of Ellen and Samuel, which I think is likely, or disprove it if the Henry born in 1798 in Lancashire ended up staying in England.
