My Grandmother born in September 1905 was Emily Ethel Appleton, she lived at the top of Croppers Hill nr Prescot Road St.Helens. She was one of 9 children I think some of their names where Jack (John), Thomas, Edith, Gertrude, Edward. This was a very musical family and nearly all played piano and brass instruments. I am now 37 and played in a Cornet in a Brass Band in St.Helens for over 20 years. Perhaps there is some link to these Appletons. I also have a relative called Pam Woods who live in the UAE, her husband Roy is a son of Jack Appleton. May not be the same Pam Woods?? Is there any link here?
