CRD can't send e-mail although report was generated

Using CRD 6.5 (Different builds in different sites)
we are facing a major problem that the reports are being generated but not sent , without any error message .
that happened randomly with several automatic schedules.
we are using crystal v10 developers.

If there is no error then it means that CRD delivered it to the SMTP server and the server sent back a success message. You need to look in the SMTP server log to see if it has then sent it on to the recipient's server. If it has, then the problem is on your recipient's end. If it has not, then you need to find out why and fix that.

Other things to check:
- Make sure here is no content filtering on the recipient's end.
- Make sure that your email address is specifically whitelisted on the recipient's server so that all emails irrespective of content from you are allowed.
- Make sure that the emails are not going into the recipient's junk mail folder
- Make sure that there is no additional security which stops the SMTP server or the CRD PC from sending more than x emails in y minutes.

I can run the same reports manually and always receive notification/acknowledge in the email log that they were sent/received.
so I guess it that it is not SMTP problem.

You say the problem is intermittent, so you have to concentrate on troubleshooting the problem when it happens, not when it doesn't.

Are you saying that for these intermittent ones

1. The schedule is successful and there is NO error in the schedule history and the CRD error log and the Windows Event-Viewer logs?
2. In the CRD email log the email is NOT there?

When running the reports manually - I can see in the email log that they have ran properly.
however , the same reports are running but not being sent when set by schedules.

So we need to troubleshoot the scheduler, not your manual run.

So my questions again for when the scheduler runs those schedules:

1. The schedule is successful and there is NO error in the schedule history and the CRD error log and the Windows Event-Viewer logs?
2. In the CRD email log the email is NOT there?

Go to Options-Messaging and switch on "Retry failed Mails".

no error in event viewer , or in the error log of the CRD.

Happens if there is no connection to the sql database.

You need to find out what is happening to the connection to the sql database at that time that CRD was trying to connect to it and fix the problem. It is likely to be a network issue, or the database is off line, a backup program is running, the sql server is restarting or anything like that.

You can google the error "Cannot initialize SSPI package" to see more information and solutions.
