What does the system maintenance process do? There is one visible under Other Processes in the System Monitor. Sometimes it appears to be doing something with counters incrementing, other times, like now, it appears to hang with a status of "collecting data". Also, while it is this "hung" state the schedules also seem to be waiting for something.
