Occasionally the Email distribution of my reports fails with error #5 - error receiving data from socket.

What exactly does this mean and how can I fix it?



I'm using CRD 6.00 build 2006051/100 with CR 10.0 Developer. I'm also using SMTP email.

Usually means that the SMTP server was not available, or timed out.

In Options, set your timneout value to be higher. Also set the option to retry failed mails and CRD will just keep trying till it is successful.
