Migrating To Local SQL Server

I have a server that CRD resides on. The OS is Windows Server 2003. I also have an installation of SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition on this server as well.

The problem is when I go to migrate the CRD File System to a Local SQL Server CRD tells me I don't have a Local Instance installed when in fact I do.

I guess I could migrate it using an ODBC connection but shouldn't have to since I have a local instance.

Thanks for you help,

-Chris

Re: Migrating To Local SQL Server

"Local SQL Server" is what CRD calls MSDE. It is a cut down form of SQL server, not the full blown thing.

As you have a "proper" sql server and not MSDE you will need to use the other option.

You can install MSDE on a machine which has a SQL server and use that if you wish too. Then you can connect to "local SQL server".

Ah, thanks for the info . That helps. I will go ahead with the other option.

Quick Response too!!

Thanks
