Rolling Thunder 2005

Hey y'all!
I just got back from D.C. Rolling Thunder was a moving experience. My boyfriend had participated before but not since 2000 so this year he rode his bike up from Georgia and I flew up to D.C. since I can't ride that far yet due to a previous surgery. Anyway, I did ride from Falls Church to the Pentagon and we rode in the parade. It was an experience I hope to share in again. I was proud to participate in such a worthy cause and hope it does raise awareness that all POWs and MIAs will not be forgotten. I knew about Rolling Thunder. I knew what it was about. I never imagined the enormity of it all until I was there.
A funny thing happened while we were standing up on the grassy hillside looking down on the massive sea of motorcycles. Out of those hundreds of thousand of people, we ran into a couple of guys my boyfriend rode to Rolling Thunder with in 2000 when he still lived in New York. You never know who you might see at Rolling Thunder. We had a great time. What a wonderful way to spend Memorial Day weekend.
Carla
