Which connection mode is better?

Now I have a good USB cable (Furutech GT2), and I connect with PC by USB mode. If I use optical or coax to connect with PC, is it possible to better than USB mode?

Re: Which connection mode is better?

If you have 192k/24 bit material then the coax s/pdif is
is the best.
If you have CD material (44khz), then USB is best.
This is because USB is a direct data path for the Audio, while S/PDIF has to be encoded , and then decoded (this can introduce jitter).
Studios use S/PDIF, but they also have a separate MAsterclock, to synchronize equipment.

Re: Which connection mode is better?

Hi Søren

I have LA-100.
If I connect with Onkyo ND-S1000 by coax s/pdif mode, is it possible to better than USB mode on PC?

Onkyo ND-S1000 only can output 48k/16bit

Re: Which connection mode is better?

You should use the Coax output when playing from the the Onkyo docking station.
