Rolling Thunder®, Inc.'s major function is to publicize the POW-MIA issue.  To educate the public of the fact that many American prisoners of war were left behind after all past wars.  To help correct the past and to protect the future veterans from being left behind should they become prisoners of war-missing in action.  We are committed to helping American veterans from all wars!

Come Ride POW/MIA Freedom Ride with us 18 Sep 04

The Sergeants Major Association at
Ft Benning, GA (Home of the Infantry)
will sponsor the First Annual
Tri-Community POW/MIA Freedom Ride
and Ceremony Sat 18 Sep 2004 -

The Freedom Ride route will pass through
Columbus, GA., Phenix City, AL (across the
River) and end at Sacrifice Field
across from the National Infantry Mueseum
on Ft Benning, GA for our Recognition
Ceremony which includes remarks from the
Commanding General and both City Mayors,
Wreath Laying, and dedication of our new
POW/MIA Monument - We will also recognize
our Major Contributers who funded all
three POW/MIA Mounments - for all 3
Locations in the Tri-Community
(about $60K for all 3)

The ceremony will be followed by a Free
Hot dog and Hamburger cookout by the
Sergeants Major Association in front of
National Infantry Museum - The Public
is invited -

The Bikers will start assembling at the
Civic Center Parking off Victory Drive
and Veterans Parkway at 0700 Sat 18 Sep 04
Register and get their commerative "T"
Shirt -- The Rangers will provide a mini
Rangers In Action Demo
There will be static Weapons Displays
We have a Country radio Remote that
will be playing as well as selling POW/MIA
items -- Following comments from the CG
and 2 City Mayors (just to the Bikers)
The Silver Wings Parachute Team (from
Ft Benning) will be jumping in -- flying
the American and POW/MIA Flags - Upon
Landing that is the signal to start
your bikes -- The events at the Civic
Center Parking Lot/Assembly Area are
also open to the Public

Our POW/MIA Monuments we are building
will be identical in all 3 locations
of the Tri-Community - The Ride route
will differ each year as we rotate the
Ceremony location -- We will have City
Police and MP escort along the ride route

Our planned POW/MIA Mounments will be
an 8 foot tall granite rock with the
National POW/MIA symbol engraved and
dedicated to all our nations POW/MIA --
Past and Present - We have contacted
a scupltor who will be making us a 3 1/2
foot tall Bronze Eagle with a chain
around one of his legs -
he's trying to fly away and is trying to
pull the chain off with his other claw
The Eagle will be painted in 10 caret
Gold and Silver -- This is also the
Eagle that will put on the front of
our first annual commerative "T" Shirt

All type Bikes are welcome

of September -- Come join us -- show
your Flags and ......
Ride for those who can't!
