If you haven't already, go vote today. If your reading this message board and you haven't voted, get your keys, walk out the door, and head to your nearest polling location.
While football (rumors) can wait for 2 hours, our future cannot wait any longer.
If you need any more reasons to vote, go vote and then go to Starbucks to get your free cup of coffee, then to Ben and Jerrys for your free ice cream from 5-8pm. See I just motivated 3 more linemen
People around here are good at bitching, but often not as good as they should be at doing something about it. Voting is not a right, it is a responsibility. The lines will be long today because other folk are interested in the process this go around.
So should you be.
Get your asses to the polls.
I went around 10am. There were no lines because everyone was at work.
"Voting is not a right, it is a responsibility"
I couldnt agree more. There is no constitutional right to vote which makes it a even stronger responsibility. However dont just go out and vote for the guy who's TV commericials you like better, do some reasearch a put a little time in it. Become a INFORMED voter, a lot people casting ballots today could not name their two U.S. Senators and their Congressman if their flat-screen TV's depended on it.
COME ON OBAMA BRING HOME THE GLORY
The O-ffense did it for us in the championship game, and we won.
Now the O-bama will win it for the prez, The country won
Obama eguals Socialism fella's....unless you call redistribution of wealth something else....ps i'm not a huge fan of mccain either they both suck in my mind
Does Obama egual socialism? ...or does he EQUAL new hope for America?
Learn to spell, terd!
Some people are just so ignorant, and just don't like change. Get out of your hood and sheets mentality, times have change for the better.
Hey I could use a little extra money. (Socialism)
Well then people salute your new president; he's going to be here for 8 years
This vote was about more than the economy, even though Obama made us believe other wise. They did a great job by focusing on what the majority of the middle to lower class care about, PETTY CASH. Everyone says Bush did such a bad job while in office, just becuase they are told so by the media. I know one thing, I sure am going to miss getting those extra stimulus tax checks that us middle to lower class has recieved. Kiss those good-bye people. But this is not what this election was about to me...
There is a question I muct ask everyone out there...
How many Christians do we have on this site? How many of you will stand up & say you are a child of the most high God, a child of THE KING? Now how many of you believe in commiting murder without consequence? What Christian can say they are a Child of God & say they are pro choice? Abortion IS MURDER!!! No matter how you look at it. For all of you that have children, take a moment today & look at you child, could you ever amagine life without them???
Thhis election was about much more than just pro-life & pro-choice, but it just goes to show you what we are about to face. A president that says they are one thing but their actions & voting record says they are another. Talk is talk & he did a great job of doing just that. He proved that money can not buy you everything but it sure can make you president.
My message to every Christian that reads this message, we have a fight on our hands this next four years just to have our faith not taking away from us. For those that don't understand what I am talking about, just wait, soon you will.
Its time that we all pray...
A moment of wisdom.
If you team is a non-profit team, they are forbidden by IRS Laws to endorse or sponsor or help sway the voting public to any candidate of any office. So be careful of attaching your teams name to any political post.
Now for my non-political response. America seems to have chosen Hope and Unity over Fear and Division. While there are many hot topic issues that will always exist, the words we, us, ours have different meaning then I, My, You.
Tony Dungy practices this and he was just voted by all the players in the NFL the coach they would most want to play for.
I personally got down on my knees last night and thanked the Lord when it was clear Obama won. There are many things to be said about either side like we won't be dependent on stimulus checks if money is being moved throughout the economy like it should be. As for whether or not someone is Pro Choice, I'm pretty sure it is still that individual's choice on whether they walk through those doors or not. We are not supposed to judge others as the good book says b/c thise people will be judged by Him someday, not us. Everyone had to weigh the pros and cons of the people who were campaigning and make a choice not on just one topic but many that will influence our whole country. Most people did not agree with every little thing being said by Obama but as a whole, he was the man to lead our people. I think our prayers WERE answered. Conduct yourself in the ways you should b/c no one is perfect, just forgiven
You say Hope & Unity has been choosen. Every canidate says hope is coming CHANGE is coming. Change would have came whether Obama or McCain won. All I have to say is that people need to remove the haze from their eyes. Obama may be a good president, that is yet to be seen. I only pray that when a moral decision needs to be made in the next four years, he begins the process on his knees in prayer. His job ahead of him will not be an easy one. May God be with him in every step he takes...
When the koolaid is free and the party provides free money with that, it is hard for those who have "not" made much money to get drunk on GREED.
This should have been called the I Want My Mommy Election. The phrase really says it all. This is not an election where the American voters were looking for someone to protect their freedoms. Instead, it was an election where people were looking for someone to take care of them. Self-sufficiency seems a bit old-fashioned right now. Why work so hard to be self-sufficient when candidates are falling all over themselves to provide the American people with womb-to-tomb or, if you will, cradle-to-grave paternalism.
The big question for me today is whether or not freedom, economic liberty and self-sufficiency can make a comeback in America. Right now it seems that a dismaying number of Americans think that they are owed a living; that it is the government's job to guarantee their economic security. Can we ever turn that around and return to a time when people accept the responsibility for their own lives and eschew the idea of using government as a tool of legalized plunder?
And go figure, a Obama supporter on this thread has basicaly called those who didnt vote for him a racist when he said get out of your hood and sheets mentality.
Yes my dear brother, Im am save, and filled with the Holy Ghost.
I have prayed and believe that GOD put the right man in office.
But now pray that we all come together as one nation under GOD mr Frantz, in JESUS name. You said we have a fight on our hands. (no we don't) its time to heal this nation and the economy.
It amazes me that people think they have all the answers. Please don't make it seem like this election is UN godly. millions of Saints, voted for him.
So yes Pray. But pray he touches your heart and deliver you from doubt, and lets come together.
OH (P.S. The KKK believe in christ too; they killed blacks in the name of god, so don't even go there about abortions. GOD bless you)
no matter what GOD is in control
If you feel different you call me anytime (812) 339-0548
you know what i hope all of you are right and he does bring hope to all Americans....Last night after he won i immediately said a prayer for him to give him guidance and the strenght to lead....yeah maybe i am a little bit ignorant....do i want change in America, yes,but i do not want the wrong kind of change....I do not want the type of change that my children and grandchildren have to suffer from...i prayer to God that he is the president for 8 years and does a fantastic job. The last thing i want any America thinking is OMG what have we done....I know many of you want a little extra money and heck who doesn't....but the way i look at it....the more the rich or taxed, mostly business owners, the more the rich business owners raise the prices on the consumer...you and me....to make up the lost money that they had to give up to the middle class...you and me. and in the end we end up loosing all the extra money we got back anyways....so what's the point....America is the only country that you can start with nothing and become a millionaire....but if the government is taking your money then why would you want to become a millionaire.....just a thought..
G.C. try and give credit for you post. Copied word for word from Neal Boortz Daily Nuze.
Barry- unfortunately you brought the race card into the situation. "Some people are just so ignorant, and just don't like change. Get out of your hood and sheets mentality, times have change for the better" You did what so many reactionary people have done, if you do not like what someome is saying about Obama, then refer to racism. It just makes people look bad. I did not vote for Obama. I think Obama has Socialist leanings. Does that mean I am a racist? I never wore a hood and sheet. I am married to a beautiful hispanic woman. And my friends are going to be so suprised, as well. Hell I will even be suprised. The defination of Racism is the declaration of one race's superiority over another. The Klan are a bunch of racists, but not one of the comments made on this board were racist.
Now I am no Bible scholar, but I believe that it is in Coranthans where it says that "God has set up the Gov't". So follow your leaders. President Obama will do well. Just pray that he does not fall prey to the power that has corrupted others in DC.
It is time to support the President. I just wish people would have remembered this the past 16 years. Yes I mean 16, Bush and Clinton were hounded throughout their time as president
Ok, my 2 cents......
Foga, I don't think that you are racist for not voting for Obama - just misled! No, just kidding, really!!!!
The reality is, no matter who is in office, we need change and we need healing. The type of change and the type of healing that can only occur when We as a people get focused and make it happen.... Such a broad and general statement - funny how some things that are so difficult can be so simple (or vice versa).....
I supported Barack Obama for many reasons. One of which was the fact that he was able to energize the nation like no other, and that is what it will take to get us to where we need to be! I am an American of mixed ethnicity (my Mother is German and my Father is Black), and yes - I am thankful that this Nation has started to turn a page (read into that however you want to). But, I think that less time spent criticizing and more time spent working together is the key - God Bless us All because WE ALL need it!
Im sorry Foga that was meant for G.C. the welfare statement.
and the other one is because. I just don't like it when people pull the GOD card.
If you post, speak on your own behalf and don't make it seem like Saints are not on their Post, for the Lord.
When Bush one the first time DEMS were very upset with that election.
but we still came together 9/11. I voted for him in the second term.
I do not want to put my team on this one, its Just Barry Grooms.
ok back to work
When you give a REFUNDABLE tax credit to someone who doesnt pay taxes, it is a form of welfare. Your giving a check to someone who doesnt pay taxes to begin with. When he said he was going to cut taxes for 95 percent of the population, that is what he is talking about since only 40-45 percent pay taxes to begin with. Like patlb24 said, costs will go up to cover the tax increase or they will just layoff workers to compensate. Mr. Obama also said he will bankrupt the coal industry and not allow new nuclear power plants to be built which will raise your energy bills and jeapordize coal jobs. I have worked hard to get what I have and hate that someone wants to take my money and give it to someone who hasnt been as successful.
Goodness..... I guess the thing that upsets me most is blanket statements that are made that have no sound basis... "Somebody said he's gonna do this, so I'm mad!" Kind of like throwing spaghetti on the wall and hoping it sticks! Do your own research instead of merely reciting what someone running for office says about someone else - if you do, you may be surprised to see what people actually stand for and plan on trying to do!
First of all let me start by saying I am a republican that voted for Obama. I disagreed with his stance on the second amendment, Iraq, and his re-distribution of wealth. However I think his foreign diplomacy will be outstanding especially with Russia. I believe this will be his biggest test. Second it makes me laugh that everyone thinks that Obama is going to change world. Hope means sh&* show me results. It seems a lot of our population in this country needed to pay some extra attention in social studies in elementary school. No offense to anyone in here. There is something called checks and balances in our governmental system. Obama can propose the most amazing changes that will fix everything wrong with our country and it means absolutely jack sh&% if congress doesn’t approve his proposed bills. I do understand that the powers of the executive branch in recent years and yes I understand that the Democrats control both the House and Senate and it “should” be easier to make his changes but…if you look at recent history one of the most progressive governments that brought about the most change was under Bill Clintons’ second term. At that time the Republicans controlled congress. During his first term similar to Obama now the Democrats controlled congress and passed everything that came across their desk. There was a lot of crap that was passed and that government was voted out. Remember if you want real change vote out your current legislators.
Mitchell Frantz you brought up abortion. I don’t know if you have a daughter but let’s say for instance you did and your daughter or wife was raped and got pregnant. By the way I hope that this never happens to yours or anyone else family. Would you still stand by your abortion stance? What about cases of incest. I realize some people may be so far removed from these situations that they never think of them. However these are some of the nasty situations that happen in the world.
Sorry Grooms I am going to pick on you a little here. First don’t be a douchebag and talk about race. I am proud that this country finally has taken a huge step in voting in someone of a different race. I realize that I have never had to deal with any race related comments in my life except from Dre LOL!! but we don’t need that right now. Take the high road. I realize that you would like a little extra cash in your pocket but the American way is not for the government to provide it to you. It is to go out and earn it. I DESPISE this sense of entitlement that seems to run rampant throughout our society right now. Guess what everyone that reads this YOU ARE ENTITLED TO NOTHING!!! I don’t care how hard you worked what you have done. Go out there bust your ass and earn it and if its not enough keep working. Everyone wants to talk about the state of the economy. Guess what its not the governments fault. The blame falls on everyone who took out a variable interest, interest only, or balloon payment loan for a $250,000 when they made $35,000 a year. Guess what you can’t afford it. I will not argue that there was predatory lending i.e. putting information in the fine print. It is however the responsibility of the person signing the paperwork to read the fine print. If everyone paid their bills the economy wouldn’t be in the current situation. Also FYI Obama isn’t going to get us out of it. It is up to every single American to do it. I think Obama should go out and echo JFK right now. Everyone needs to say what can I do for my country? Tony spaghetti does stick to the wall when cooked al dente LOL!!
not sure what your getting at there tony but if you were refering to macks statement that he said he was goin to bankrupt the coal industries....he really did say that....and he said he knew it would sky rocket energy prices....i have done my research and i know what he has said and what he waz voted for and against....and frankly it disturbs me....but i think when he gets into office he will find out what he can do and can't do and more than likely he will hopefully make the right decision....now that he is our president i do support him. as long as he or any of the government never violate any of my constitional rights i will always support our government...
Effective immediately, all whites are to report to the cotton fields at 7am for orientation...
wow bud. thats totally uncalled for and i am offended. african american, white, hispanic, asian, i dont think this matters. this is history folks. we should feel good about this. now i'm not jumping the obama bandwagon, as i did vote for mccain. but you have to think, we're part of history. i'm part filipino, and i've been called mexican, chink, hell sometimes people call my mom the N word cuz she's so dark. please, dont make this a racial situation. we've made leaps and bounds since slavery and i dont want it ended all because some people cant stand the fact that AMERICA elected a minority. obama won the battle of the flashy catchphrases (change we can believe in, or whatever it was). and maybe thats what needed to be done. some people i know voted obama just because they said they like change. when i asked what kind of change obama wanted they strayed off the topic or mentioned bush mutilated gas prices. well guess what? we have some of the lowest gas prices in the world! germany was up around 8 US dollars a gallon. The UK? 10 US dollars a gallon. so just be thankful you live in America. because in some countries, you dont have a vote or an opinion!
Pat, what I'm getting at is exactly what I said... No hidden messages, agendas, etc.... Don't read between any non-existent lines - read what it said. Then, if you don't understand, I'd be happy to expand - but be forewarned, there is a lot.
Tony, feel free to expand....the more educated i get the better....like i said i have done my research....but hey the more that i can learn the better off i will be....sometimes hearing things from a different angle can put a different pespective on things and i am completely open minded to different opinions and thoughts to a point...i apologize if i came off the wrong way when i responded....that was not my intent...
OHNOBama, are you serious....look i apologize for what my white ancesters did....even though i feel like i shouldn't have to....the past is the past and it was evil....but look how far we have come as a nation....just 40 years ago we had the civil rights movement and now we have our first black president...are there racist in america? yeah and everybody hates them because of it....we are a new nation that does not care where you came from, or what skin color you are as long as you want to achieve the American dream then you are my brother or my sister....can we please get over the whole black and white. Barack Obama is suppose to unite us....not devide us by our race... and that's exactly what you are doing by making those statements....so get over it and grow up...i highly doubt Obama would appreciate any kind of comment like that.
Pat, you're right - you don't have to apologize. And honestly, you shouldn't. I'm of mixed heritage (black and white), and I wouldn't want an apology from anyone that didn't have anything to do with those things..... The fact is, with Obama being elected President, we will probably see a shift towards more tolerance of statements like that (hopefully both ways, and hopefully as jokes and not heart-felt sentiments). But regardless, we are going through a very historical time in the history of our country - and ALL of us need to realize that no 1 man (regardless of the color of his skin) is going to get us out of the messes that we have helped create. We need to truly unite - not because it sounds good and gives everyone that warm and fuzzy feeling - but because that is what our country was built on and that is the only way for us to realize our full potential as a Nation.... But remember, there will be some bumps in the road and tough times ahead. You don't un-do things in a day. Just like if my wife and I make some bad purchases or financial decisions - there comes a time when we have to tighten up the belt and make some sacrifices on how we spend in order to get things back in their proper order.... Hopefully the difference is we choose not to continue to borrow the money from other countries to do so!
Hey Guys this is crazy. We are all family, One Blood, One Nation under GOD.
Im sorry for my previous statements.
I love all of you; no matter what happens, or who says what.
Time will tell about Obama.
This is a great country we live in. The people should be proud democracy worked the way it supposes too. The majority of the people wanted change and voted for Obama. If you voted for McCain, you had that right. The greatest thing about America is no matter if you are a millionaire or homeless your vote counts the same. We are all American and have a personally responsibility to continue to make this country great.
one last thing, what do we do to make this country better?
I voted for Nader cuz it rhymes with HATER
Amen! (to Toledo and Barry's comments, not tater hater!)
Killing a baby because it's the result of a rape is a sin, it's murder. Sinning because it's more convenient is still a sin. Have the kid, live with the pain of caring this child for 9 months, then give the baby up for adoption.
The problem with this whole topic, is that no candidate is going to ban abortion, although they should, it won't happen. So even if a candidate says he's pro-life, don't base the decision on that alone.
Barry Grooms said don't play the GOD card. WOW
I think I'll continue playing the god card, since that's how christians should live every day of their life.
Christian = Christ-like
Sadusees & pharisees Use the God card all the time so pat #24 go ahead and use that if you choose. Because I see you know the law; and not the SPIRIT.
the Lord can still save your soul, its not to late.
and Study your Word for yourself, and learn Christ for yourself.
having an abortion because of rape is a tough one to call....is it a sin? does anyone really truly know for a fact that it is....rape is by far the most evil thing someone can do to someone else....i would rather be murdered than raped....and if i were a woman that got pregnant from rape i would have to say i would probably consider abortion....and would God punish me....i would find out only in my death...but i honestly could not see myself ever taking an unborn childs life....but that's me and every body has a different opinion on this one
