This is going to cause a stir for sure but then if it does so be it. There are just way to many vulgar posts on this board I know my two teenage kids like to get on here and read the posts I don't want to bar them from doing that you know someday they even play semi-pro ball. I know supa has asked that it be kept to a minimum and even team leaders have got on here and asked that it not reach a certain point but nothing seems to work and some people just have to drop f bombs and use the word gay and other things that just shouldn't be said so here is what I think we all should do. We all know how important sponsors are why don't we just print off these posts and send them to sponsors of teams that the guys play for then maybe just maybe we would see men act a little better on here and show more respect. I just wonder how a sponsor would react if he read some of this vulgar childish stuff and saw what his money was supporting.
Maybe a new condition of the site by supa if you drop the f bomb or use someones sexual preference against them on here you simply get your IP address blocked and won't be able to post your vulgar language on here it has no place on here!!!
Maybe some of the leagues should have penalities for posting such fould language on here and when it come to calling people f*gs that is totally uncalled for and in most places considered a hate crime. Seems I struck a nerve!
read the forum rules, maybe they shouldn't be on here till their 18 huh
WHAT KIND OF NAME IS
"MOUTH OF THE SOUTH"
THATS LIKE A PORN NAME
DUDE IF YOU CANT PUT YOUR
REAL NAME UP I WOULD STRONGLY
SUGGEST YOU THINK ABOUT
WHAT NAME YOU DO USE....
IF YOU KIDS AT ALL HAD A DIRTY MIND THEY WOULD NOT WANT TO SIT BY YOU AT THE DINNER TABLE.
THEY WOULD PROBABLY HELP THEIR MOTHER FIGHT FOR CUSTODY OVER THEM WHEN SHE KICKED YOUR MOUTH OF THE SOUTH TO THE CURB
WONT GO ANY FURTHER....
REAL NAME POSTERS AUTOMATICALLY START OUT WITH A GREAT DEAL MORE RESPECT UNLIKE THE UNFILLABLE MOUTH OF THE SOUTH!!!!!!
KURT ENGELKING 36
Can we get a straight answer out of you? Don't sugar coat it this time and let us know what you really think!!!
There is a reason I don't let my kids on here or tell our sponsors about it. I personally find it amusing but, I understand what it is about, they would want nothing more to do with this if they started reading some of the posts on here. Some of the discussions can be fun as hell, others are absolutely pointless, but that is the nature of the beast. The people that comment on here know what it's about.
That guy should be watching what his kids do on the internet anyway. I mean why should children be on here anyway. But at the same time, you guys dont have to act immature about what he said. Keep it real cause thats what it is, immature. Cause to be honest, he could be anyone. Maybe one of your sponsors. Just a thought.
The poster here has a number of very good points. To revisit a point I have made many many times, I have chosen to walk a very fine line between allowing discussion that is frank and may be offensive IN SUBSTANCE - ie "the Bears offense is really overrated and needs to improve on the offensive line"- while doing my best to attend to writing that is offensive IN FORM- ie "such and such is a !&%&@%!"
This gives me an opportunity to make a greater point here- one that I have tried to make in the past with respect to phone numbers that are posted here. Many of who post your phone numbers here do not include the area code- this omission isn't just inconvenient- it actually demonstrates a deeper kind of social isolation. This forum is one that extends well beyond the world that many of you live in- the kind of people you are around- the kind of way you are used to communicating with others. While we all have the love of the game in common, the ways that we choose to communicate with others and what might be "cool with your buddies" certainly is not "cool" with many of the hundreds of others who read and post here. Many of you don't realize, forget, or choose to ignore that there is a wider world outside of your buddies in your area code in which people have very different values and ways of seeing things. People who also love the game as much as you do.
It's important that your posts reflect respect for those differences- and at the end of the day, we all know that your ability to make your point will not in any way be diminished by such consideration. The likelihood is that you will be heard more clearly.
I do have to agree with the critics of the original post, however, that such a critique (as much as I wholeheartedly agree with it) would be received with more force had the original poster chosen to use his (or her) own name.
Just to be perfectly clear here, whether or not it is the way that you talk with your buddies, racial or ethnic slurs, gay slurs, or other kinds of things that you would not want to say on the evening news are not appropriate for use here under any circumstances. This is a place where all people with all perspectives are welcome, so long as they can share those perspectives respectfully.
I'm glad you said what you said about what you expect here, but as has been mentioned before, the only way to get to that point is to require everyone to register and verify a real email address, etc. As long as anonymous posting is allowed, these things will continue. You have said in the past that you've banned many IP addresses. That ban is so unbelievably simple to get around it's not even funny. If you banned my IP, I could be back on this site posting within minutes. It's not a reliable way of controlling things.
