CAMDEN, New Jersey – This is a critical point in the South Jersey Lynx (1-2) 2011 season. Last week, the two game losing streak was broken and the Lynx earned their first win of the season. The first two losses, the Lynx were heavily favored to win and ended up losing to two mediocre opponents. No one expected South Jersey to turn things around and defeat the Explosion but the defense stood tall and a win was earned late in the game. Now the Lynx go into this game with the Chambersburg Cardinals (2-0) as the underdog for the second week in a row. Chambersburg won the Big North East Football Federation (BNEFF) Championship. The will be the first meeting between the two teams.
Finally playing well in all three aspects of the game last week has rekindled the Lynx confidence. Not confidence in knowing every game will be won but just to know the team can be much more competitive than in the very beginning of the season. Another good sign for the team is getting back a few more veterans who have missed games due to prior obligations. Can the Lynx come together and pull off an upset? That question will be answered on Saturday evening. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm at Chambersburg High School.
Other games in the North Atlantic – North Division this week are Washington (DC) Explosion (2-1) hosting Bergen Hawks (0-1), Lancaster (PA) Lightning (1-2) at Jersey Stags (2-2).
