The GDFL Brings Hope To Local Youth Football Team

Memphis,TN-On August 31, 2011, the GDFL hosted a private uniform giveaway for the Orange Mound Golden Wildcats Youth Football Team. Head Coach Bobby Teal was very excited about the additional uniforms and equipment the youth were able to receive. During the summer, the Golden Wildcats staff stored all of the team’s uniforms and equipment in a van used for transport and the van was stolen along with all of the youth’s equipment inside. Coach Teal described the ordeal as a “mind-blowing loss” for the team. The team serves many youth of low-income families and recovering from this loss would have been nearly impossible without the generous donation of the GDFL.

This donation serves as a beginning of a new division of the GDFL and GDFL Enterprises. We will be serving the youth in our communities by launching the youth initiative program, which will include GDFL Gridiron Girls (catering to adolescent and preteen girls) and the National Gridiron Youth Football League. Also, the GDFL will be launching a Challenger Adult Flag Football League (Fall Ball). We look forward to expanding the league into a mufti-purpose franchise that serves football lovers of every age and gender. More information will be available in the upcoming months on the newest developments of the Gridiron Developmental Football League.
