Let me start by saying that I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday weekend. Now we're on to the final stretch into the CRFL playoffs.
Warriors @ Vipers
Both teams are revamped, however, only one has won consistently since the roster cutoff. The Warriors have been playing quite well the past few weeks, but they will need to travel well to keep rolling. A Warriors loss could be devastating.
Prediction: Warriors 28-22
Blitz @ Renegades
The Blitz enter this game having not played since their August 6 game was called in the 3rd quarter. If anything they should be healthy & refreshed! A surprise win would vault them into playoff contention, as they sit only a 1/2 game out of the 4th seed. Don't get too excited, Blitz.
Prediction: Renegades 42-0
Stallions @ Raiders
This could be a good game. The Stallions have proven they can compete with the best, and the Raiders have proven that, although they may be 1-6, they never quit. Mad River received an unfortunate forfeit loss to the Blitz, which may end up being the deciding factor of their playoff seeding. This is a must win for Tri County if they want to play into October.
Prediction: Stallions 26-12
Force @ Revolution
The month of August was very unkind to the Revolution as they were unable to record a win. Perhaps the Summer heat busted this team at the seams. They have not been the same team who started 3-0, and it doesn't look good going forward. The Force, however, sit at 7-0 and look to lock up home field advantage in Ohio. If they intend on going deep in the playoffs, they need to work out the kinks... quick.
Prediction: Force 18-6
Cardinals @ Knights
Even though the Knights are improved, they still sit at a dismal 1-6. The Cardinals are coming off a reality check handed to them by the Stallions. Look for the Cardinals to get back on track and handle the Knights with ease.
Prediction: Cardinals 24-8
The playoff race is heating up in both states.
In Indiana:
The Renegades & Cards battle for #1 seed.
The last two spots are currently held by the Warriors and Revolution, but the Blitz are only a 1/2 game from making a playoff apprearance, despite their inability to play a game. 3 teams, 2 spots. Time will tell!
In Ohio:
The Force & Stallions fight for #1 seed, advantage Force because they hold a 2 game lead with 3 to play.
The #3 seed, currently held by the Crush, could fall to anyone not named the Force. If the Stallions drop a game or two, they could find themselves in the 3 slot, with the Crush at #2. The Knights and Raiders may seem down and out, but both teams are only a game back of the 4th seeded Vipers.
Three weeks to go until everyone's undefeated again. Getting in is half the battle. It's simple, win and you're in. No one has been eliminated from playoff contention. YOU CONTROL YOUR OWN DESTINY! Good luck to all teams!
