Good Morning, SupaNation. We've now entered our fourth month of prediction and while many titles and been won and trophies have been hoisted, both the CRFL and MSFL are still working toward determining a champ. These great games are what we all spend the Summer months looking forward to and they are finally here. Can't wait to see some of these great games this weekend- and to hear from each of you with scores and details. Let's get to it!
Michiana Warriors @ Indiana Cardinals
What a great game. The Warriors have really made a late season push and although they've been inconsistent at times, they've certainly put halves of football together that rival anyone in the league. There's no question that they benefitted from the collapse of other Michiana area teams and have played with much better stamina. The Cardinals have figured to be in the title game since early in the season, but have not come close to playing up to their potential. This game will be about turnovers, plain and simple. If the Cards win the turnover margin, there is NO WAY they lose. And I believe they will.
Delaware County Revolution @ Indy Renegades
Another great battle here. The Revolution have scored a lot of points this year and played more or less to the level of their competition each week. The Renegades were also inconsistent early in the season but have each week come to look more and more like last season's champ. Though the records are very different, no one expects this one to be a blowout, but early on- it will look that way. The Revo will make it respectable late.
Miami County Vipers @ Midwest Force
This is the lone playoff game this week that's easy to call. The Vipers certainly stacked up some important wins, but have not beaten any of the league contenders in 2011. The Force have finally been made to look mortal, but they'll not face the kind of mortal threat from the Vipers that one would expect in the playoffs. Nice season for the Vipers, but the Force advance easily.
Ohio Crush @ Mad River Stallions
The Stallions made plenty of noise in the CRFL this year and are certainly a club to be reckoned with going forward. They played remarkably consistent football in a league that had plenty of up and downs in 2011. The reason that their season will end this weekend is that the Crush offense is just too much. The Stallions still have fresh in their mind a trouncing at the hands of the Crush a few weeks ago and this weekend's outcome is unlikely to be different.
Hagerstown Tigers @ Union City Indians
Though it now looks highly unlikely that the Indians will with the TEC in 2011, they've put together a season to remember. The Indians have put up huge numbers offensively and featured a lock down defense when they've needed to. They've executed far more consistently than at any time in memory. Even if Centerville is very likely to win the conference, big things lay down the road in the post-season for Beef's Indians. But first up are the very good Hagerstown Tigers. The Tigers have a very disciplined team who don't feature big play ability on either side of the ball, but make few mistakes. The Indians will play similarly mistake-free football and advance to the final week of the regular season at an impressive 7-1.
That's all I've got, folks. Have a great weekend of football and bring us back lots of scores and details. And please leave the bragging and self-aggrandizement at home. We're all lucky to be a part of this beautiful game, so go out and give thanks the best way possible: by making your mommas proud!
