8 on 8 CRUSHSTANG Open
8 on 8, 16 Team, Double Elimination, Two Day Football Tournament.
1. 16 Teams with a roster size no greater than 18 with no less than 6 linemen.
2. Winners bracket will run two 15 minute halves with a 10 minute half time. The clock will not stop on a play out of bounds. On an incomplete pass the clock will be stopped until the ball is spotted. At which time the official will wind the clock.
3. Losers bracket will run two 15 minute halves with a running clock, stopping in the last three minutes of each half, and a 5 minute half time.
4. Each team will be allowed 2 timeouts per half; timeouts can not be carried over from the first half.
5. 3 defensive players must be down linemen. 4 offensive players must be on the line of scrimmage
6. There will be only one linebacker or secondary player permitted to blitz on a play.
7. 1 offensive player may go in motion horizontal to the line of scrimmage; at no point in time may the motion man approach the line of scrimmage prior to the snap.
8. 4 downs are allowed to advance the ball 10 yards for a first down or touchdown. 6 points for a touchdown. 1 point for a successful running play for p.a.t. 2 points for a successful passing play for p.a.t. The passing play must be a forward pass to count for a 2 point conversion. A backwards pass will be scored as a running play and will only count for 1 point.
9. Kickoffs are from the goal line and any tee of choice for the kicker is permitted. Kicks must be returned by receiving team, there will be no touchbacks. If the kick return is tackled in the end zone it will be scored as a safety, however the kicking team is not permitted past the receiving teams five yard line until the kick receiver advances the ball past his own goal line.
10. Punting is illegal. On fourth down the team may go for the first down or a touchdown. If the offensive team does not have a successful conversion then the ball will be placed at mid field mark if the offensive team had not passed this mark. If the offensive team has passed mid field and is unable to convert a fourth down play then the ball will be placed at the previous line of scrimmage and possession will change.
11. Kicks must be fielded regardless of where they may have made contact with the protective surroundings inside the five yard line; this includes the back net and all side walls. Kicks that strike the ceiling, any structure hanging from the ceiling, or the side wall will be spotted where the contact with that structure was made outside the receiving team’s five yard line. Passes will not be considered complete if the ball has made contact with any structure surrounding the field of play, including the ceiling.
12. If a ball carrier makes contact with the protective surrounding that will be considered out of bounds and the play blown dead. A receiver may make contact with the wall in the act of the catch, and the catch will be ruled complete, however down at the spot of completion. If a receiver makes contact with the wall prior to the act of the catch, and is not forced out by a defensive player, he will be deemed ineligible. If said player makes the catch it will be considered incomplete.
13. All other rules in regards to this competition will revert to NCAA rules.

Hey supa any predictions on the winner so far with the teams listed. I think all would like to know what you may think. Especially ChickenHead 4000 as he feels his own squad has an edge. My money is on the Lima Warriors or the Flyers.

where are the grant county scorpions on the list. i paid the money and filled out the paper work my self. is there anything else we need to do or any other reason we got left off?
Per the norm I messed up again and regretfully left the Grant County Scorpions off the posted roster, I truley have my head where the sun does not shine at times. So Grant County I apologize and I am sure the Scorpions will not let me forget this error. Please accecpt my apologies.
If there is anyone else I have snubbed, please with haste let me know what a baffoon I am. Again I look forward to meeting all of you and seeing the teams play in january.

We forgive you this time, lol. I know a few teams would be pretty disappointted if we were not in. Plus, Supa would not have the Scorps to dog on, lol. You needed a couple sucky MFL teams in the tournament, so Wayne and I that we would step up, lol. Good luck to all the teams and safe travels.

If i'm not mistaken I beleive I made a circus catch in the endzone for a td as time ran off the clock at half time at YOUR place

First guys it is irrelevant whether Hemi can jump or not because you can not use the way as an advantage, if you jumped off prior to the catch to catch the ball you would be out of bounds and an ineligble reciever. So no use of the wall. If you jump to catch the ball and make contact during the catch it counts, but you are down at the point of reception. So sorry Hemi, I am sure your verticle is impressive, but it will have to wow us with out the wall.

another question will the 3 o'clock game be the begining of the second round, or will it be the start of the losers bracket? im sure you guys got it all figured out, i was just wondering for myself. i figured since you said the losers bracket will run at night, that the losers bracket would start after the second round of the losers bracket

Who are the Stallions?
Just wanted to remind all the teams that I am having a meeting for one representative from each team on Friday January 6 at 7 pm at the Classic City Center for Arts and Athletics. I also want to let everyone know that from www.classiccitycrush.org you can get to the bracket, and get directions to the facility. I will update the bracket after each game and adjust start times after each round accordingly.
I am also looking for the SupaFan predictions I havn't seen them yet. So far on the predictions on bracketmaker.com the flyers and the warriors are heavily favored. My guess is there will be a sleeper.

man, I have like a 2 inch verticle...why you think i wanna use the damn wall. Plus take away an inch from that cause I was on vacation for two and half weeks and ate like a king....I think i could be pushing the 250 lb club BUT if the chance is given.... promises ill go up for a ball or may even try to break out the "low" hurdle.
Thanks Gambrel. I read on a website that the new Stallions team is a merger of 3 teams: Bolingbrook Stallions, Bolingbrook Buccaneers, and Joliet Panthers. Is that true?
QUESTION: The meeting is at 7:00pm on Friday night for the payment and rules. What if we can not get a person there at the meeting? Can we pay on Saturday or later on that night when we get there?
The reason is we are not leaving to come up there until 6:00 because some of our player have to work until 5-6:00 so we will miss the meeting.

The purpose for the meeting is not necessarilly to get the money. The purpose for the meeting is so that we can make sure everyone is on the samepage as far as what we expect and what is expected out of us. I would like for someone to attend the meeting only so we can go through the process of where to change, where are players going to enter, rules variations that may cause issue, etc.... so I really am not concerned about the money, I am concerned that we don't have the space for some mistakes and need to be very efficient in our efforts, I feel the meeting will very much accomidate what needs to be known to help make this sucessful. We are about 120 miles from indianapolis and would like very much for you to attend even if it may be a little late.

The Buccaneers are still a team...with a few players and coaches moving over to the Stallions. As for the Panthers, I do know that some old Panthers are playing for the Stallions, but as far as a merger...
I believe it was a false statement....
I dont know if there is still a Panther team, but there still is a Buccaneer team.

Are you going to be wearing your Titans helmet? Just curious, how many other Titans are helping out the Steelers this weekend?
I'll be wearing #6 for the Mustangs. I might play Wing/TE or QB. The player to watch is my younger brother...he's never played football before but he'll be one of the best if not the best athlete at this tournament. He's about 6'5" 210, runs a 4.6 and has a 34 inch vertical. I can't wait to see what he can do at WR, could be the start of something great. He's #82.
