Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
I'm just as excited to see some quality football as the rest of you- it has been too long. I guess these would amount to the first predictions of the new year-so let's get to them.
FW Flyers vs HC Generals
This game will be all about speed and the Generals will be completely outmatched. Tough one to start with.
Flyers 38
Generals 0
Leyden Lions vs SC Broncos
A lot of squads may not know how good the Lions are- but they will by 9am. A close one goes to the boys from Layden.
Lions 26
Broncos 22
LC Steelers vs. WO Wranglers
The Steelers always had talent- just not enough depth. The Wranglers have a solid core that bring the wood, though too. Wranglers by an ass hair in this one.
Wranglers 21
Steelers 20
MC Warthogs vs. GC Scorpions
I am assuming that the Warthogs are a spin-off of the Seminoles, and if that is the cast, the Scorpions are in for a nightmare. MH will be well served to hold the ball for as long as possible- but it should not make any difference.
Warthogs 36
Scorpions 12
Lima Warriors vs. DC Warriors
Though this format really plays to the strengths of DC, they will find themselves completely outclassed athletically. Lima was among the 10 best teams in the nation this past year, and they will make that clear quickly.
L Warriors 41
DC Warriors 0
KC Mustangs vs. AC Patriots
Big Mike and the Mustangs are likely to put on a passing clinic. Wayne's boys are known to lower the boom- but they'd have to catch the Mustang backs and receivers first.
Mustangs 31
Patriots 0
Columbus Generals vs. Randolph County Cougars
Zeb's squad is a very solid group of athletes, but should be pretty well overcome by the size of the Generals up front and in the backfield. Though the Generals are a first year outfit, the relative weakness of the MFL will be aparent here.
Generals 26
Cougars 10
Indiana Mustangs vs. Joliet Stallions
This should be a *great* showcase of athletes for the smaller market teams- stick around and see this one if you have time. The Stallions are a hybrid of several good programs, and the 8 that the Mustangs will field are no joke. Stallions will have the big play and some take-aways.
Stallions 31
Mustangs 16
Crush99- if you can make what would be the second round match-ups based on these predicitions available to me (either here or via email)- I will call the second round games as well.
Good luck- stay healthy- and make your mommas proud, boys.
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
3 out of the 8 games, Supa predicts a shutout....
I know its your first prediction of the year Supa, but dang, Short Field, 8 of the teams best on the field and you say "Goose Egg".
When a team gets shut out in Arena, that says something for a defense....
****************************************************
Hey Supa, I will say that the Steelers will have Depth this weekend, they might be wearing Gold Helmets, but there will be depth....
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE TEAMS....SHOULD BE A GREAT WEEKEND.
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
I agree with the shutout picks. There might even be more than 3 considering none of these teams have had a chance to put any of their plays into action yet.
I don't agree with the Cougars scoring 10 points though since there are no field goals. Are you predicting a 2pt conversion and a safety?
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
supa,
I will update the bracket each game at my web site www.classiccitycrush.org go the the link that states live updates here. Also just wanted to mention that the Randolph County Cougars decided to be no shows. So the KC mustangs will play a voluntary shortened exhibition game in that time spot against the Columbus Generals. I apologize to those of you in advance that had hoped to see this game, however they backed out. Essentially, the generals get a first round bye, but will be playing football. If any of the AC patriots would like to join the mustangs in this exhibition against the Generals I know that they would be welcomed.
thanks alot

Supa,
Can we get a prediction on the odds of Hemi actually jumping. And even better, can we get odds on him jumping off of the wall and catching a ball.
thanks
just curious

Wal-Mart was hoppin - saw several players and fans buying merchandise and asking what there is to do in Auburn. Man you are at wal-mart..... what did you think there was to do in auburn. By the way a big hello to the hotty in the pink PJs I think it might have been Hemi's love monkey.
Thats all I have.
by the way my wife, not my daughter will be helping out. Do not hit on her unless you have a lot of money.
thanks again
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
I knew some people who lived in Auburn back when I lived in Fort Wayne. I think they kick it in the parking lot and McDonald's or some burger joint. haha There is the Auburn Cord Deusenburg (sp) museum when its open other wise sounds like there's tons of fun to be had at the Wal-Mart. haha
Good Luck to everyone tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing how the tournament went.
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).

Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
do not know about all of the scores, but the Broncos are into the Semi finals Beating the Lions, Flyers and the Warthogs. Unfortunately that is not me in the #40 uniform, but he does bare some resembalence to me.
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
Broncos lose 6-0 in the Semi finals. They are now playing in the 1 loss side of the bracket. Do not know who they played or who they are playing, but will update when I get the results from Matt or Heather Steele.
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
Got off the phone with Matt. The Broncos take home third place. Losing to the Columbus team 13-0. Keep Nick Anderson in your prayers. He went to the hospital with a possible seperated shoulder. So Columbus plays someone for the Championship.
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
Broncos took home 3rd place losing to the Lima Warriors. The Columbus Generals played the Lima Warriors for the Championship. The Warriors lost their 1st game of the tourney to the D.C. Warriors. Then after comin up with a game plan...ran the table and won the losers bracket by playing all through then nite...(9 games..including gettin revenge on the D.C. Warriors 22-0) before losing to the Generals in one of the greatest games ever played. Warriors on the 9 yd line goin in with 12 seconds left...score is 0-0 before the Warriors QB fumbles and the Generals returned it for the score. It was an excellent game and a heart breaker for Lima to lose that way. They had dominated the game, and lost on a crazy play. Those boys were exhausted and had played their hearts out for their fans. Congrats to the Lima Warriors on doing the unthinkable and never sayin die. They finished as runners up to a good Columbus Generals ball club. There is a brief tourney run down!
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
WOW-
Thanks to everyone to helped make this what it was. We started on saturday morning with 15 teams and ended up at 5:17 on sunday with one. The Columbus Generals with tremendous size and stature managed to win a war of attrition against the lima warriors for the first ever winter open chanpionship in waterloo IN. The Classic City Crush, K.C. Mustangs and the Classic City Center or Arts and Athletics would very much like to extend an invitation to any and all events that may be held at that facility again to all participants of this event. It went off with everyone walking off the field. There were a few injuries, however, given the speed and confinement of the game the two or three concusions, a couple of ankles, one messed up shoulder(very messed up) and one or two serious scrapes and cuts, with 30games played I think we were very fortunate for all to walk off the field.
I would like to congradulate the Columbus Generals and their staff on a tournament well played. Their aggressive physical defense with alot of attitude turned heads early. Their relentlessness won them their tournament. Congradulations Generals.
Second place was taken by the most worn out football team I have ever witnessed. For those of you that stayed to see the late nite and early morning action witnessed the Lima Warriors playing at 11:00 am and going to the "Unfortunate" side of the tournament bracket. And for those of you that wonder what I am refering too, the term looser will never again be used in reference to this tournament. The "Unfortuantes" played games from 9:30pm until 4:00 pm the following after noon. For example - Lima falls to the "Unfortunate" bracket in their first round at 11:00 am. Came back at 11:30pm to play again. Played again at 4:30 am, again at 7:30am again at 9:00am, again at 1:00pm again at 2:30pm and mercifully wrapped things up in a 6-0 loss in the final at 4:00. With no detraction from the Generals intended Holy Crap Warriors, when I email you to say if you wanted to play alot of football this weekend loose in the first round I was joking. So, congradulations to to Second place team Lima Warriors for going to long way home and still getting a trophey.
The Third Place team, the S.C. Broncos played in consictently the most physical two games that I witnessed. With Lima and with Columbus. Also, who ever convinced you that Nate Baugh was a player should of checked with me first. He is a mouth with legs. Some how after all these years I still laugh at everything he says. Oh well. (Franny) Also, if all will think of 6 tonight, he probalby suffered the only major injury of the tournament with a shoulder.
Finally, to all that came saw and went. Thank you. Thank you very much. I had arranged for about two hundred ticket to be given away at our local radio station and I needed to put on a good show for local support for this type of football. If this wasn't impressive from start to finish we need to redefine the word. Again thanks
I am going to sleep now, 41hrs later. Good Luck and Good Night.

Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
Hey Adam,
I forgot that Nate went to St. Francis with you and Wren, or I would have mentioned it at the Champ. game. Hopefully next year I will be able to make it to the tourney. Great job to all and congrats to Columbus.
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
A Day Later.
A very interesting thing occured to me this morning during my groggy commute to work. The only score that occured against the Columbus Generals and Coach Rodney Swanigan was in an exhibition game against the KC Mustangs after the Mustangs, to replace the first round game that Randolph County pulled from. So, officially the Columbus Generals Shut Out all official games for the tournament.
Lima played in 240 minutes of football at the worst possible times.
The league with the most wins was the IFL, however with no team advancing to the finals.
Six times the Ambulance had to be called.(with 30 plus games played not too bad)
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
Mad, mad, mad props to the Lima Warriors.
What an amazing run they had. Playing over, and over again all night long.
Coach, your team was first class and represented itself well.
The nose man from the Columbus team was a very personable guy and pretty damn funny too.
He also was like 6'8 and 340 pounds of solid bad ass.
The Broncos Kurt Engleking did everything he could to keep him out of our backfield but that dude was a man beast for sure. Kurt if you know him is no little kid either.
My props go out to my team as well.
Nick Anderson injury report.
He has a broken collar bone. He is going for a second opinion. He may have also broke his hand earlier in the tourney. His elbow was like a bag full of jello.
He cowboyed up and played through all but the collar bone.
The Bronco team decided that Coach Steele is the Supa Fan, because he brought his computer. Steele was taking it pretty heavy from them for picking against them, although he isn't Supa Fan or is he???
Awesome job by the IFL teams. I know that the Mustangs took a ton of injuries but shouldn't hang there heads, you guys had alot on your plate and still played well. Big props to the Generals, Warriors, Wranglers and Mustangs.
Thanks to:
Brandon Shipman, Ryan Benson, Nate Baugh, Absolom Bryant for stepping up and playing for the Broncos in the tourney.
Thanks to Heather, Mindy, Shelly, Chris Johnsons mother and Statgirl for aiding us on our time off and helping us hydrate.
I would also thank Phil Maddox and D Mo's girls but I don't know there names. Sorry.
Those who didn't play in the tourney and want to get into it next year be warned.
Take all the big hits made by you and taken by you last year in league play. Now take those and put everyone of them into a 45 minute game. Multiply that by how many games you want to play in this tourney. That is what it is like. Big hits, for all 8 people in every play. I will tell you, only the strong truely survived.
Re: Official Predictions For 8 on 8 Tournament (POST ALL SCORES AND DETAILS HERE- NOT BELOW).
Congrats to the Generals!!!
Way to hang in there Lima. Both of theses teams show me that with hard work, persistance, and some pure dumb luck, the Patriots have a lot to look forward to in the not-so-distant future.
I have to say that this tournament was the most fun that I have had playing this game in a very long time. We will be back next year with a little better idea of what to expect and ready to compete.
