As a league board member for the MFL, I would be more than happy to help anyone who is truly interested in applying to our league for the upcoming season. We are planning to have an organizational meeting in February and one of the topics for discussion is new membership.
We have had a couple of teams apply thus far and hope that any others that want to talk to us will come forward soon so that we can start work on our schedule and then focus on getting our individual teams ready for the upcoming season.

Though there are some sour grapes involved with some member organizations of the MFL, I enthusiastically endorse the leadership of big Wayne from the ACP. If he is in a leadership role, the league will re-earn its once respectable reputation.
As far as the general tenor of the question posed by the starter of this thread- there are a number of good leagues looking for good teams. Starting your own league is a mammoth undertaking, and at this point in the off-season- nearly impossible to pull off.
I wish you good luck, though, and hope that you'll let us know whatever league your team ends up in.
