With all this talk about communication and leadership on this board whatever happened to the generals/mustang game that was called due to weather at half-time last year? I know that federation rules state the game needed to be rescheduled within 7 days however, an untimely response from IFL president, Troy Edwards made it impossible for the game to actually be finished. If the outcome remained due to this lack of response what does the IFL rules state about a delay of this nature (on purpose or not)from the league president, placing this game into such a predicament? This scenario is an example of poor communication and leadership. Who is the current IFL president?
Another nameless puss trying to start some $hit! Another post dragging up crap from the past, gotta love it.
How come nobody can answer my question??? Gosh....Frickin IDIOTS!!!
maybe because it's just not funny to anyone but you. why do i get the feeling this is good ole three five?
Hey look...I used my real name. Why do you call us idiots for not answering your question, when you (Idiot) don't use your real name??? An explanation was given for that decision at our first league meeting this year, and it was also given to the league board LAST YEAR right after the incident. If you want an explanation, talk to the board representative for your team, or you can call me...I'm sure you can find my number. If you're not with a team in the IFL, then it doesn't concern you and you can come up with another idiotic message to post here with some other idiotic fake name.
If you are even an IFL board member, then go back and read the minutes from our January meeting and you will see what was discussed with regards to that issue. That would be a shame though...
TROY EDWARDS
Obviously the cat is ashamed of his mammy and pappy since he won't respect them by using the name they bestowed upon him.
Maybe his mammy has thick ankles and wears combat boots.
Out
Maybe he is some chump that has never even suited up and talkin s$#^ to make himself feel good.
I don't think this is the same creep that was Chief bashing.
As far as this thread. If I were Shaggy and you were Scooby. Wouldn't you think it to be odd that there has been someone missing for the last couple of days, who also has affiliation with one of the teams in question, that usually has a little something to say about everything? Maybe I am way off here, but it was just a hunch !!! Didn't mean to be a meddling kid.
I was a part of that game, Yes I would have liked to make it up, but I am going to give the Generals their dues, they took it to us for the time we got to play. I have no objection to the eventual outcome, it was an unfortunate way to conclude, however. These things do happen.
And My Name is Adam Crozier.
Owner of the Classic City Crush.
Crush99,
People own cars and own houses. I do not believe you can own a team. You represent the organization. You may start the organization, etc. I personally would not refer to it as owner. Without a doubt, your are the leader of the organization. Your players and volunteers might take offense by referring to the team as owned. This season you will have alot of people put numerous hours and effort to the cause to make it sucessfull. Your players will sacrifice a great deal of time (the greatest commitment) and money to be able to play the season. All that for your team?
Just some thoughts,
Scorpions #69
Not to overcorrect you, but this is a registered business endevour, if that is spelled correct, of which I am the owner and president of operations. I also have a functioning board of directors and a silent partner that is helping with funds. So, not to be too defensive, but I own it. And I am very proud of what the organization has done thus far and very proud of that fact the I can help these people help me.
thanks
They think a little different over there Crozier, I wouldn't let it bother you. From what I've seen, you guys have a lot to be proud of. Hell, you can call yourself King Crozier for all I care. Good luck this year!
Bill
Mr. Crozier,
Let me try again. I did not mean to take anything away from you or your organization. You are doing an outstanding job. I believe everyone is looking forward to seeing the Crush play. I personally thing you will do very well. I understand that you can legally own a team. I have an Acct and Corp Finance Degree for Ball State University, but my intel is not the resean for the post (shocking to many I am sure, lol). Trust me I understand your post. I just would not refer to the team as yours or this is your team. 'Owner' gives the feeling of ownership. President or Team re-presentive looks better in my opinion and it is just my opinion. I was just try to give insist. When I played for the Scorps, I had a problem with 'the owner' referring to the team as his. He and I had numerous discussions on it, and he and I respectfully disagree on that issue. Guys had broken leg, fingers, etc for his team and ownership, no. I was popping IBU like candy for his team and his pocket, no. I finished that first season because of the other guys and players that I consider my friends, brothers, and the brotherhood. Truly for the love of the game. A team can be a legal entity on paper, but not in the minds of your players and volunteers.
I made the post because new owners are reading Supa, and I was just giving some insist. The post was not intended to be an attack, if you took it that way, I apologize. It was not intended that way. Written communication can be miss represented easily as we all know.
You have alot to be proud of Crush99. The Crush will be lead well.
Good Luck in 2006,
Scorpions #69
The Scorps are a legal entity (Non-for-Profit), but it is a players team. Nobody makes any money off of the sweat and hard work of the players and volunteers.

2 archaic : PERSIST
transitive senses : to maintain in a persistent or positive manner
Weird how in the midst of all the poor grammar that is used on this message board, "English Major" chooses to correct #69 on this post for one single word! Hmmmm...I wonder if Bill and "English Major" are the same person.
Dear Mr. Dan,
Sorry but I've not seen the word "insist" used so far out of context before, I had to say something. I'm not Bill, my first name is Mary. Don't be fooled, some of the wives do get on here too you know.
No hard feelings boys!
Chicken soup: Food for thought
If you start a team, do all the leg work and make it function, then you shall be the owner. When it comes to stuff that entitles an "owner" to make those "owner" descisions guess who makes them? the owner. Now a good owner is one who asks for his teams opinion in certain matters, makes good descisions, and puts his team first. As long as an owner puts his team in a situation to succeed and gives the team an open road ahead then there is a problem with the "I don't like idea of the team being Owned". Every team needs someone to head it. If everything is laid out and there are no road blocks that are out of the players control then the season rests on the "Teams shoulders" which is the way it should be. If unfortunately there are road blocks that are out of the players control...then the owner can call "his bad" for it and life goes on. all in all, you need someone that can make the final descisions that need to be made. It just depends how you use the term "Owner" and scorp, I think your looking at it the complete opposite of what 99 is. looking to deep at it. If you started that team, and its well run then im sure there is a lot of pride there being the owner. it's your club but you know its the players who do the work for you, thats common sense.
is that a taco? We have a place called Letti's Tacos here in Ligonier and they're minature taco's but let me tell ya, they're mmm mmm good in my belly.
Fellas,
I see both sides of the debate here. However, I think that I have to agree with Adam on this one. While what we do helps others to play a game that we all love, when it boils down to it, it is the "owners" name that is tied to everything that happens on and off the field. WHEN we win a championship, all the credit will be deflected toward the coaches and players. If something happens that has negative consequences, it is my personal responsibility and I have to deal with that. I think that all of my players, coaches, and volunteers will back me up on this.
I want a taco, I'm outta here.
Wayne,
Do you own the field you play on, most teams do not. Do you own the equipment the players play in, most teams do not. Do you own the volunteers and coaches, no. Do you own the players, no. Your organization is intangible. You lead and organize, not own. Dumb point true, and is problably irrelavant to most. However to some it is. I am sure it is my own little issue. I will take my medication and the voices should go away.
See ya on the 2nd,
Scorpions #69
Matt,
Great points, but when that field gets torn up, those volunteers quit, or those players get act in a way that is deemed offensive, who ultimately is responsible? You are correct in all that you say, but the general public doesn't necessarily view it that way. If you step back and say "all I did is organize this team" I don't believe that response would sit well. There has to be someone "in charge" in their eyes. I can't cop out and say I really don't own any of this, even though we all know that is true. It's kind of like calling this "semi-pro" football. It's all about perception.
While most of what we have is intangible, you still take ownership of it all.
Now, WHERE'S MY TACO?
Hello
The first thing that I would like to say is that I have missed the opportunity to get on here and razz you guys for the last couple of months. I am glad to see that the two nuts Hemi, and Mustang35 are still doing there thing on this great message board that Supa has provided for us.
With that being said I would like to say that to the best of my knowledge LaFunkycheese or what ever his name is is not a part of the K.C. Mustangs, and that we as a league have resolved all issues about the infamous rain game that happened this summer, and that since then Troy and I have talked and have no hard feelings over the whole ordeal.
So with that being said, let's all have the great amount of respect for the game that it deserves and be happy that we still get to put the pads on and play this great game every summer and fall. Remember, that nobody can play forever, so let's enjoy it while we have the chance.
Finally, Scorpions, we owe each other a preseason matchup, so if someone could give me a call or shoot me an e-mail I would appreciate it.

P.S. If you are going to get on this message board and try to dog someone or a league at least be man enough to put your name on it. And if "LaFaker" is currently a part of the IFL I am very disappointed.
Andy,
We are looking forward to it. KC and the Scorps will be hooking up this summer. I would like to schedule the match up two or maybe three weeks before the MFL regular season. I am getting old, so I need time to heal up after that first game, lol. Sunday morning will be long that day. We will come to you since Warsaw is close for us. I do not have the regular season schedule yet, and I do not know how many regular season games and playoff games the Scorps will be playing. The KC Mustangs will probably be the only preseason game for us this year. I would like to schedule the Wranglers two weeks before the you guys, but I do not think I will be able to get it done. I will contact you in late April to work out the details.
This will get both of our guys pumped and motivated to get started early.
Good luck to the Muustangs in 2006!!!
Talk to you soon,
Scorpions #69
My opinion on the ownership, we are here knocking the guy for calling himself a owner. We have no idea what he has done or spent to start this team. As far as we know, he might have bought all the equipment and jerseys for the team, along with field and medical kits, practice dummys, cones, markers and ect. He might have payed the league fees out of pocket. I'm and sure there is tons of time and planning putting together a team with alot of expenses like recruitement flyers, website fees, travel expenses for finding a league and more.
I coach little league football for four years, I never realized the amount of time you spend in a 8-10 week period, let alone 6 months with a semi-pro team.
Look at it this way, if I decided to host a Texas Hold'em Tournament, and I invite several players to play. And because I rented out some louge to play at because my house isn't big enough for the amount of players I have invited and all the players have to pay their "buy-in" fee, does all that mean it is NOT my tournament?
If the only reward the guy wants for all the time and out of pocket expense for starting a team is the self satifaction of calling himself a owner, then so be it. If I went to all the trouble of starting my own team and done what he has done I would probably label myself as a owner as well, and probably would alot of you.
