I have been to this site before, made a few recipes, which were great.
My question is this. I weigh 162, and have done some looking around on the web. If I am correct, I am suppose to eat like 20 some points. Isnt that too low? I mean thats not many calories.
I was thinking of trying say 29 or 31. Which brings the calories up to 1700. I always seem to be hungry.
How do you stay within your range. Is that too high a range for me?
The points calculator is more complicated now. It is based on a lot of factors, including your present weight, height, activity level, etc. There is a good chance that 20 points is too low, but I would suspect that 29 is too high for weight loss, but without your taking the quiz, there is no way to be sure.
I think Tobe knows the quiz formula and she may be able to post it for you. I think based upon your weight a reasonable guesstimate would be 22 to 24 points a day though. THis would NOT include AP's.
I am also 162, 5'6" and a housewife so I can eat 24 points a day. Depending on if you exercise very much that could make you more hungry and you should be eating some activity points. And then there are always the 35 Weekly Allowance Points you can dip into if you are truly hungry.
Well, according to the test, Im only allowed 21 pts. per day.
I best be finding some filling foods.
What has helped you to feel full? Any special soups? I like soups.
Thanks for the warm welcome too. Looks like a great bunch.
I was given the slider with 123 success. I do have the book where you look up all sorts of foods too. Ive never joined WW. I just thought I could do it at home, and find out info online.
I have done this years ago, but unfortunately Ive gained it back.
Im 5'4", 162.
Not much into exercise yet. I do like to walk, and do some weight training.

with 21 points your going to have to find high
protein high fiber foods, thats what sticks to the stomach, not in weight gain but in satisfaction...
Go into the receipe section of this site and look under soups..
I've been using the good ol WW veggie soup, but I add kidney beans to it, for protein...
Eggbeaters are another good source of protein in the morning... i add bacon bits, cheese and peppers and onions to it and put it on a high fiber wrap....
I'm only using 23 points myself a day, but I'm on maintenance and had to add 3 points to my daily intake, plus i do use my activity points the days I work out in the gym.
we need fuel to burn in order to lose weight..
Right now I'm having a snack, an apple (fiber)_
dipped in reduced fat chunky Peanut butter (protein)
I was at 20 points for a long time, so I got really used to low points. Now, I did earn AP's most days - usually around 4 a day, but I didn't always eat them. The ticket for me was high volume/low points foods. I still eat that way. If you look at my daily menu, you will see I eat a lot of veggies and low point foods. For example, I will make 3 point breakfast with:
1/2 cup eggbeaters (1)
1 can mushrooms (0)
2 slices lite toast (1)
1 serving canadian bacon (1)
