1 (16-ounce) angel food cake, cubed
1 (20-ounce) can no-sugar added cherry pie filling
4 (3.5 ounce) cups FF chocolate pudding snack (such as
Hunt's Snack Pack Pudding) - I made my own SF/FF
Jello Instant Pudding and used white chocolate
1 (8-ounce) carton FF Cool Whip, thawed
1 ounce semisweet chocolate, grated (I didn't use it)
Place half of the cake in a 2-quart trifle bowl or any 2-quart bowl; spoon half of cherry pie filling over the cake. Spread half the pudding over the cherry pie filling; top with half the Cool Whip. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with grated chocolate. Chill, if desired.
Yield: 12 servings (serving size: 1 cup)
I didn't check to see if there was any points difference in the SF/FF Jello pudding versus the Snack Pack kind, so I don't know if it changes the points and also not using the ounce of grated chocolate.
It was a beautiful dessert and SO suitable for the holidays. It has possibilities with other combinations of pudding and pie fillings or fruit, as well.
This does sound good, and I agree, that the combinations of fruits and cakes and puddings are endless. I love the combo of angel food cake and pudding. One of my favorites is the angel food cake with banana cream pudding and bananas....
