Question on Blueberry Cream Cake recipe

Has anyone tried the Blueberry Cream Cake recipe?

I made it this past weekend. It tasted really good, but the frozen blueberries on top of the cake (under the pudding) had an odd texture. They were chewy, and almost felt frozen when they were thawed.

Has anyone else experienced this? I don't know if it would always be this way with frozen, or if I just got a bad batch.

The cake was AWESOME otherwise -- I just picked those blueberries out. Maybe next time I'll try it with fresh blueberries.

Hmmm. I'm not sure. When I made it, I used frozen blueberries from Trader Joe's. When they were thawed, they had a softer texture. Maybe someone else knows? You could use fresh blueberries. When I made the recipe, all I had on hand were the frozen, and since we thought it tasted good, I just kept them as frozen in the recipe. :)
