Graham family Caernarfon

Nain's maiden name was Graham (Catherine Ellen Graham) and she was born in Caernarfon. I have some information about the family but it is a little confusing so am trying to make sense of it all. Her mother Sarah had her I think out of wedlock but went onto marry twice afterwards. Her name was Sarah Graham. Nain's father was written as John Graham but i believe that was her grandfather. They were a poor family and I know John Graham was in court for being a disgrace to the town (drinking!). Think the family were of Irish descent but Nain also told me there was Scottish in me as well as Irish (but mostly Welsh!).

I now live just outside Caernarfon and would dearly love to unravel this story. Any help gratefully received.
Diolch yn fawr iawn.

Re: Graham family Caernarfon

Hi Shirley,

I've found Catherine on the 1911 census, together with her mother Catherine and sister Sarah. They are living with a Richard & Sarah Trevor at Well Street, Caernarfon. From the relationships given Sarah Trevor and Catherine were sisters.

If, as you say, the family set-up is rather confusing, it would probably require time spent researching the family thoroughly.

I do offer a professional, paid for, research service. If you feel I can be of assistance then please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Regards,

Keith.

Re: Graham family Caernarfon

This will be them as one of the men Sarah married had the surname Trevor.

Am presently quite enjoying the detective work involved tracking various family tree members but if I get stuck I will get back to you. Not sure how much professional research would cost but guess if I have to ask it may be too costly for me right now. Am very grateful for the offer. The good thing is that my ancestors will still be out there if I can afford help in the future.

Best wishes a diolch yn fawr
Shirley
