Hopefully the information presented here will help provide solutions to some of today's automation challenges. Some issues are probably old, some are probably new. Many are products of the economy, the resultant reduction in manpower, exacerbated by aging equipment crippled by decreases in maintenance budgets.  The ULTIMATE goal here is that we all become more successful in our careers and chosen professions.

      MAYBE THIS FORUM CAN HELP!!!

Re: E won't go into run mode

Dear Rémy Dieudonné,
Thank you for visiting our website, and for your interest in Hitachi products.

The manual for the Hitachi “E” series is part numberNJI-004(X). It is not available in electronic form.

Several conditions must be met for the “RUN” light to come on.
1) Power must be applied to the PLC.
2) At “power on”, the PLC must pass a self check.
3) A program must be in memory, and valid.
4) A circuit must be made from the terminal which provides power to the input devices (+24V in HRP and 0V in HR), momentarily to the STA (start) terminal. If a “start” switch or contact is used, it can be of the “maintained” type, but a “momentary” switch is all that is required. You mention the STA light is on. That indicates that the correct potential is applied to the STA or START terminal.

Providing these conditions are met, the PLC should go into RUN mode. If the PLC does not go into RUN mode, then it may need replaced. If I had to make a guess as to what your problem was, I would suggest the following.
One: The wire which provides power to the input devices and to the STA terminal, is also used to STOP the PLC. If voltage is applied to both the STA and the STO terminals at the same time, the PLC stops. So even though the STA light is on, the PLC will not go into RUN model.
Two: If the program has become corrupt, the STA circuit may be complete and the STA light may be illuminated, but the PLC will not go into RUN (because it doesn’t have a program to run).

I hope this discussion helps solve your problem.
