PGM-J Manual [reprinted from email request]

Do you have a downloadable set of basic instructions for a PGMJ hand held programmer?

Thanks

Re: PGM-J Manual [reprinted from email request]

Lynn - It is good to hear from you. Thank you for your question.

There never was – as far as I know – a manual just specific for the PGM-J. The reason for this – and there really is one – is that the PGM-J worked on J-16, E, E2, EC, EC2, EM, and EMII Series. So what Hitachi chose to do, was to include instructions – specific – to the functionality of the particular unit. I hope that made sense. In other words for example, the EC had functions the J-16 never dreamed of, so the EC manual addressed those functions – as accessed by the PGM-J – in the EC manual. And so forth. So what you are really looking for, is a manual specific to the model of Hitachi to which you are connecting the PGM-J ! Let me know, and if I have it I’ll send it (or make it available on-line).
MEANWHILE, here is a manual for the PGM-JR2 (the Universal Programmer). While the PGM-JR2 has many more features and functions than the smaller/simpler PGM-J, the manual fairly well covers the PGM-J key-in procedures. There is a good chance you may be able to find what you need from this manual.

I hope this helps. If not, let me know to which series you are connecting, and I’ll see if I have an (electronic) manual. We have these manuals in print, should you decide you would rather purchase one instead.
Best Regards,
Timothy

RE: HITACHI PGMJ PROGRAMMER

Timothy,
Thank you for your prompt reply and explanation. I am connecting to an EM unit. I need to do a search for a timer and change the frequency and amount of time for a grease cycle on my machine.
Thanks,
Lynn Griffin

RE: HITACHI PGMJ PROGRAMMER

Lynn,
You can download the manualhere: ftp://customer@lighthouseplcs.com:hitachiuser@74.220.207.112/pub/NJI-054XA.pdf
If that link doesn't work, just use the FTP as described earlier, and look in the PUB folder for NJI-054XA.pdf.
The examples will show you first in Ladder Logic (LD), then in Instruction List (IL), which is the keystrokes you would use on the PGM-J/PGM-JR2.
This should get you where you need to go!
Good Luck with your project!
Best Regards,
Timothy
