Re: Hitachi P250

Dear Manuel Gaspar,
The P250 Series has been obsolete for some time. According to the PLC timeline, manufacturing stopped nearly 20 years ago.
Hitachi also stopped repairing these units over 10 years ago, because the internal components were no longer available.
You have about three options. You may be able to find the unit you are looking for at one of the on-line trading sites like eBay. You may be able to find a used one at PLCCenter. There is a chance you might be able to get the unit repaired locally at a reputable electronics repair company.
Lastly, if you have the program documented, you can upgrade to the manufactures recommended replacement, which is either the "Large-H" (high I/O count), or EH-150 series, which is newer and will eventually replace the Large-H.
You would have to take your documentation (like ladder-logic or function block) and by using a laptop with Hitachi programming software, enter the program into the new unit.
If you do not have the program documented, you will need to get it from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (if they cooperate) or use a programming console. The console attaches to the front of the P250 and displays the program in "steps". If you (carefully) write down each step, you will then have the documentation needed for an upgrade.
I trust this information helps you make an informed decision.
Good Luck with your project!

Re: Hitachi P250

Thanks for your information and suggestions Timothy.

Do you know of any location for manual?

It looks likely I have a unit I'd like to try to get the program from with console as you have suggested.

Kind regards

Anthony
