Hopefully the information presented here will help provide solutions to some of today's automation challenges. Some issues are probably old, some are probably new. Many are products of the economy, the resultant reduction in manpower, exacerbated by aging equipment crippled by decreases in maintenance budgets.  The ULTIMATE goal here is that we all become more successful in our careers and chosen professions.

Re: Need Help with H700 Totalizer App.

Unfortunately COMM-2H cannot handle this type of communication because it is only for H-protocol communication module for SCADA and HMI.

In your case, please use SIO-H, which is general purpose communication module. Any protocol (message) can be programmed using TRNS 1 command.

On the other hand, if you use H-702, which is successor of H-700, a general purpose port (RS-232C) is equipped on CPU module besides

programming port. In this case, you don't have to use additional SIO-H module. This port is programmed by TRNS 0 command.

Hi, I have a problem in using my H-700 PLC. My CPU is 07-Ha and my RS-232 communication card is Comm-2H. I have a weighing indicator connected to the PLC using the RS-232 cable. What I need to know is how to capture the data from this port, put into some DM area to do some changes to the data, and give an output through the output card (YTS 24DH). The data going to the PLC is actually the weight, eg. 75kg. After processing the data in the PLC, I need to give an output to a totaliser, meaning the output card will have to on-off, on-off an output for 75 times before it stops. The arrangement of the I/O cards are 2 Input Cards, 2 Output Cards, 1 Comm Card. The Output Card which I am using for the output is on slot 2 and the Comm Card is on slot 5. I need to know how to write the ladder program. Hope someone can help me on this?? Thanks..

Regards,

Simon
