EC20 won't come back to life

Hello, I have a EC 20 HRP plc that has been turned off for about four months. We re-energized the system today and we can not get the plc to start up. I have metered and confirmed supply voltage at the plc, but there is not a power light or any other light coming on. Is there any kind of a internal fuse that I can check? Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Re: EC20 won't come back to life

There is no user replaceable fuse inside the unit. The manufacture suggests (as all manufacturers do,) installing a fuse ahead of the PLC when installing, however.

My guess is that a voltage surge (transient voltage surge or lightning strike) may have damaged the internal circuitry.

Do not confuse the +24VDC terminals on the top of the unit, with the AC Power (85 to 264VAC) terminals on the bottom terminal strip. The unit does require (85 to 264VAC) power to operate. The +24VDC terminals are provided as a convenient way to get power to (a) the STA(start) switch, and (b) the Input devices. If you apply AC input power, you should see voltage on the +24VDC terminals (if the power supply has not been damaged.

If you would like to send us the unit, we could (at no charge) check the unit out and tell you if it has been damaged.

I hope this helps!
