Furnas PLC availability

Do you know if any of this stuff is still available?

Re: Furnas PLC availability

Dear Greg,

Furnas brand labeled four different “families” of Hitachi PLCs. Briefly, they were:
96MFM = Hitachi H-Board (obsolete)
96M = EC (end of production scheduled for March 2008 )
= EM (end of production scheduled for March 2008 )
= H200 (end of production scheduled for March 2008 )

The most widely used was the EM series. Chances are that is what you have. At the time Furnas sold the EM, the available I/O modules were 8 point, with only a few 16 point modules. Hitachi continued to update the EM series, which became the EMII. The EMII modules are 16 points primarily, and all are still available at this time. Not all of the 16 point I/O modules were brand labeled.

If you have specific part numbers, we would be happy to quote price and availability to you on these. (Please email sales@lighthouseplcs.com)

Just for reference, the replacement for the Furnas 96M, is the Micro-EH and/or the EH-150. The program running in your 96M can be easily tailored to run in these units.

Feel free to contact me directly if you have further questions.
