Bel Air QB Isaac Ybarra. #2 Made some noise on the varsity level last season this kid is a stud, plays very well on both sides of the ball. Look out for him this season.
#5 Aaron Samaniego
Height 6'0" Weight: 170
Adrian Chavez and all the other Eastlake Falcons.
#8 Adrian Chavez Eastlake
I'm very impressed with Kevin Henderson's ability to read offenses and make plays. The kid is a beast on defense!!!
Eastwoods defensive line has some good people coming back but they also have line backers who are really good chase warden #43 is a player to look out for.
Nice highlights on Tre Wolf! He's dual threat at QB and WR and should have a great season. I guess it's too late for him to transfer to 6A. j/k
Nice highlights on Chase Warden! He knows how to go after the football and will be hard to stop on defense.
Keith Tarango Lopez #12
Eastlake High School
6'1" 205 QB
2,500 yards passing in Junior year
Adrian Chavez #8 will be fun to watch as always.
Nobody pays attention to the O-line these days but watch out for big Robert Lazarin #70 at 6'3" 300lbs.
When a quarterback, running back or receivers do well and are mentioned in this blog, local newspapers or local tv news it's praising not only those players but the OLINE and the problem is that a lot people don't see it that way. It's like when teams win trophies they get all the praise but the players parents, booster clubs and fans don't get any praise when they also had a lot to do with winning the trophies. One or a few go on stage to receive praise for many others that were involved with the success.
#21 Joshua Fields
#90 Kolton Lindeman
#88 Mike Munoz
#9 P.J. Turner
#15 Jason Vargas
lots more gifted athletes where that batch came from

Hudl Profile - http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3123200
That's some impressive blocking by Leftwich for the Cougars
I wouldn't overlook this kid going into his junior year he missed half of last years season but he is the real deal..... kid can block run and catch the ball !!!!! will be exciting to watch him play this year !!!!
Ivan Avina #20
Isaac Ybarra has come along way since his days with the Eastside Lions in the city-wide Youth Football League. If my memory serves me right he played Tight End for the Lions. Who would have thought back then that he would grow into the QB that he is today. I expect to see his name in the newspaper a lot in the coming season.
I agree, you can't talk about the Eastlake Falcons without mentioning Ivan Avina.
This kid is a serious athlete and will be a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the ball for teams this season. This is his time to shine!
I simply can't say enough about Josh Fields. He continues to amaze me with his skills and athleticism. He is in my opinion the best RB in the city and like most of his fans, I can't wait to see him close out his senior season and make EL Paso proud at the D1 level!
Watching Deion Hankins highlight video makes you want to see more. Will he be a Jr or Sr when the season starts?
The Draft...LOL. Photoshop not that bad. Would be nice to see more people joke and have fun instead of being so serious and so easily offended.
#20 WR/SAFETY Tyreese Andrus is a multiple sports athlete in (football, basketball, and track) and a big time playmaker. He proved last season as a sophomore that you don't need to have 90+ catches in a single season to make an impact in the game as he showed against Eastwood and Midland last season. This kid is the real deal!
Some Cougars everyone has to go see this year.
#70 Cutter Leftwich http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2378377/cutter-leftwich
#12 Kaleb Hatch http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3199106/kaleb-hatch

#22 Marc Feste http://www.hudl.com/athlete/5263034/marc-feste
Coronado has a lot of good players that will surprise this year.
here goes the hate. Honestly Coronado will surprise people. JV was very good, have a qb and a good safety coming back as well.
isnt he gone he is a great athlete but he is gone to my knowlege
I'm new to EP Gridiron...can someone tell me how do I post videos?
Using the bb code is actually simple as I did it quick along with posting a picture below the video. But in my opinion we should just post a link without the bb code and let people copy and paste the link. Here is the link without the bb code http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3976624/tyquez-hampton . Just copy and paste it to your address bar.
Bowie will shock the city!!!!!

Cristian Santibanez http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3138193/cristian-santibanez
A lot more good players where that came from
In terms of offers received Tyquez Hampton (El Dorado) and Josh Fields (Americas) are the two biggest names to look for in 2016. Wishing both players great seasons as they weigh their many college offers.
watched the video thats pretty awesome that he said he wasn't going to take any visits because He is committed. Says alot about his up bringing.
Montwood Spring Game was very impressive:
Fernandez to Andruss connection is on the dot.
Venegas and Frutig on defense showed a lot of talent at the DE position.
Apodaca and Ruhl at the LB position showed they belong there.
An under classman Ramirez showed alot of potential at the LB position.
Fenandez at the QB position demonstrated poise and an outstanding view for field connecting lasers with his receivers.
My point of view - Good luck to all the players the new Coaching Staff at Montwood.
Good points ther Mr. Fan...
TYQUEZ HAMPTON -> EL DORADO AZTECS
This is the list of D1 offers that Tyquez Hampton has as of right now.
HAWAII RAINBOW WARRIORS
LOUISIANA MONROE WARHAWKS
NORTH TEXAS MEAN GREEN
TULSA GOLDEN HURRICANES
WASHINGTON STATE COUGARS
INCARNATE WORD CARDINALS
MISSISSIPPI STATE BULLDOGS
AIR FORCE FALCONS
ARMY BLACK KNIGHTS
Personally I feel Ecstatic that this young man is receiving so much attention !!! El Pasoans should be feeling excited because you never know when those schools might be coming down to see Tyquez Hampton and see somebody else that catches their eye as well !!! Be grateful that there's the possibility that he might be opening doors for someone else as well !! So all news is great news as far as I'm concerned !!! So keep it coming !!! Just saying !!!
I just have one question to ask. Didn't Tyquez Hampton already commit to SMU? So why do you feel the need to inform everyone on the forum everytime he gets a new D1 offer? I submit to u that Tyquez Hampton has probably received more D1 offers then any other athlete in recent history here in EP. We applaud and congratulate him but seriously we don't need to hear about every offer that he gets because not only is it annoying but it's starting to sound like your just bragging.
Its not Probably. He has recieved the most Offers from a D1 school in El Paso History. He passed up Jack Fields like 4 offers ago. Im waiting for the big names to start rolling in. To Defend Hampton a bit he did say in that video that he was going to stay committed. That is awesome if true, means he has character.
But with this being the case, does this put more pressure on the new coach to win. When you have arguably the most sought after player in the history of El Paso on your roster are you expected to win. Dang never thought of it like that. what happens if this kid doesn't produce next year is it going to be put on the coach.
It is going to be interesting to see how the new coach uses him along with the other talented receivers they have. Most teams will probably try to key a safety on him the whole game so they are going to have to run a bunch of stunts and decoy plays. Cedarious (the QB) doesn't have as strong an arm as previous ElDo QBs so they won't be able to just run the fly pattern with him all the time. Cedarious arm strength is improving daily but he still tosses up some "wounded ducks". The spring game is 2moro at the SAC but it is supposed to be REALLY windy so good luck trying to throw the ball 2moro.
Anyways, at least he is bringing some recognition to El Paso. I have NEVER seen so many recruiters in town before, hopefully they are also visiting the other schools around town while they are here to check out the talent....GOOD LUCK to all schools, have a safe summer, and can't wait for the fall to get here.
A couple of you don't like the updates on Tyquez Hamptons Division 1 offers but I do and I'm sure many out there do as well. I want to know every offer Tyquez gets along with any offers anyone in El Paso gets. D1 offers to any El Paso athlete is good for El Paso in today, tomorrow and the future. It causes D1 recruiters to keep looking over here to far west Texas in El Paso and think of coming to see what all the hype is about and potentially cause them to visit other El Paso schools. So Keep posting updates AztecEmpire. Thanks
2015 Top Ten NFL Receivers:
1. Julio Jones- Atlanta Falcons 6’ 3”
2. Antonio Brown- Pittsburg Steelers 5’ 10”
3. Odell Beckman- New York Giants 5’ 11”
4. Calvin Johnson- Detroit Lions 6’ 5”
5. A.J. Green- Cincinnatti Bengals 6’ 4”
6. Demaryius Thomas- Denver Broncos 6’ 3”
7. Dez Bryant- Dallas Cowboys 6’ 2”
8. Larry Fitzgerald- Arizona Cardinals 6’ 3”
9. Steve Smith- Baltimore Ravens 5’ 9”
10. DeAndre Hopkins- Houston Texans 5’ 1”
As you can see from the above list NFL receivers come in all shapes and sizes. And like M.J. McFarland before him, I'm sure Hampton's size was a contributing factor in him getting recruited, along with his skills.
But when you really think about it at the (national) college level, receivers over 6ft are a dime a dozen. The top schools are heavily recruiting 4 and 5 star athletes and the rest settle for what they can get, the same applies to NFL teams, because there simply isn't enough of these top tier athletes to go around.
So selecting the right school is just as important as getting offered, because every year there is a new crop of talent entering the college ranks. Which means you may get recruited as a 2 or 3 three star receiver only to get trumped by a 5 star receiver the following year. And if you are not ready to play on day 1 like some of these 4 and 5 star recruits...you may end up having to sit out a year or two while you wait for an opportunity to play. That's the game.
So players need to choose wisely and take full advantage of their opportunities not just on the football field but more importantly in the classroom.
I applaud Tyquez Hampton for his accomplishments and wish him well, because any athlete that get's recruited here in EP can potentially open doors for other athletes to be recruited as well. M.J. McFarland who recently signed with the Philadelphia Eagles is a prime example. I predict the Jones brothers at UTEP along with Rashad Still from Andress HS, now playing for Minnesota may also see action in the NFL, bringing even more exposure to EP in the coming years.
NAME: Phillip Frutig
JERSEY NUMBER: #51
I believe Coronado has a few players to watch this season after seeing their Spring Game tonight.
Troy Dillard #44, big and quick linebacker able to lay the wood also played some TE but didn't get a pass
Casey Courtney #1, looked very fast and laid some big hits, looks a little small but extremely aggressive
Trevor Pledger #81, big and strong DE able to track the QB and make some very good plays
Angelo Donatelli #14, made some impressive plays after scrambling and able to keep the plays alive
Madison Beeler #66, big linemen with some very good footwork able to pull easily and make some solid blocks
1. The Eld QB made his debut last season and showed alot of promise filling in for the injured Austyn Hill. He received some criticism for running the ball too much and not being a pocket passer. But he has improved alot since last season. His best passes were fly's to Hampton and Hernandez but he balanced his long passes out with shorter routes. I don't know what his overall stats were but he showed a lot of poise and patience by letting the plays develop. He also managed to fool the defense a couple of times with two big runs up the middle for TDs. I see him only getting better.
2. The offensive has good size and provided a fair amount of protection.
1. The defense wasn't as exciting but they had their moments getting at least one interception and a big hit by #15 that got the crowd hyped. He also got to play RB a few times.
This is a different ELD team from last season. Other then Hampton, there are no superstars like Hill, Sergio, Covington, etc to talk about right now. But I suspect, that by the end of next season, we will be talking alot about many of these newcomers.
Overall, I liked what I saw and can't wait for the fall.
NAME: Cameron Seabrook
HIGH SCHOOL: Pebble Hills Spartans
I'm surprised to see very little, if any, Nike verified profiles on hudl with all these studs here in El Paso. Has nobody taken their son to a Nike Opening Day combine???
Coronado: Madison Beeler OL, Orlando Ortega DT, Joseph Garilldo DT, Troy Dillard, and Casey Courtney SS, they are all great leaders and they are all looking good
GURU'S ELITE PLAYERS "PROSPECTS" TO WATCH FOR IN 2016
Tyquez Hampton / El Dorado Aztecs
Kolton Lindemann / Americas Trailblazers
Joshua Fields / Americas Trailblazers
Cutter Leftwich / Franklin Cougars
Kaleb Hatch / Franklin Cougars
Patrick Sullivan / Parkland Matadors
Otho Redding / Andress Eagles
Matthew Zubiate / Chapin Huskies
Odell Graham / Burges Mustangs
Those are my elite players "prospects" to watch for in 2016. Yes I know there are many talented players to watch for in 2016 in El Paso, Texas and some of you already have mentioned alot of them in this thread. In my opinion the players on my list are ones who I believe are of Division 1 caliber.
Don't hate on ur own team mates. You might well have more d1 players but these two are proven have a snickers and calm down
Props to all local players whose names have been posted within this board thread.
Come on GURU. Prospects? Really?
The only ones on your so called elite players list that I agree with are
Tyquez Hampton cause he has over 20 offers and has committed to Washington State.
Kolton Lindemann cause he has a offer from UTEP.
Joshua Fields cause he has a offer from New Mexico Lobos and UTEP.
Cutter Leftwich cause he has a offer from UTEP.
The other players on your list do not have official offers. They might have interest from college coaches but so do thousands of student athletes across the nation.
I totally agree with Spike. And the words Prospect and Elite should only be used for players who have a OFFER or OFFERS on the table don't use those words so lightly. Respect those words especially ELITE.
Joshua Fields expecting recruitment to pick up
Best player to watch in the city.
...i like this guy.........Americas, Eastlake, Franklin....my top 3....!!!....good luck Eastlake!!
Come on boys we all know that the best player to watch for is P.Sullivan from Parkland.
Eastwood High School, #12 Wide Receiver, Bobby Robert Minjarez whose super speedy
Hell ya he is a great player already preseason All-state in Dave Campbell's magazine
I had a chance to see this kid play a couple times. He is going to be one of the top juniors in the EP Area and will help canutillo bounce back.
Oscar Del Real
What position does he play?
He plays RB/WR/TE/FB/
He also played DLine in the spring game
Big time player to watch for this season
Ryan I Wilson
Ryan is getting lots of Division 1 interest from across the country!!!
Chapin Huskies RB
Abraham Valdez / LB / Ysleta
Eastlakes' Complete Offensive Line will be a group to watch in 2016 with Plenty of depth.
Franklin High School
OTHO REDDING http://www.hudl.com/athlete/3690358/highlights
Chapin QB is one to watch this year.
Dont want to forget about your big Oline there...you got big boys #77_#70 and your new center #65 looks pretty impressive ...
Eastlake has the 2 best middle linebacker in the city.. #18 Josh Molinar #33 Chris Sepulveda.. they will be exciting to watch! Go Falcons!!
Gonna be 100% honest with this list and definitely not gonna be bias as a student of the school, but Andress looks to have some very very good prospects on defense.
Otho Redding looks to be having a break out year and on a star studded defense the whole defense will be looking to return back to the title of The Best Defense in the City. Xavier Williams also is looking to have the year of his life as he is currently looking to impress more and more D1 schools in the area having already received looks from Duke and Navy. A sleeper player who I personally believe will have a great year is WR Antonio Gomez also of Andress. With a combination of speed, footwork, and great hands, he will be William Frilot's number 1 target for sure this year.
Parklands Deion Hankins will have a beast mode season.
Henderson from El Dorado
El dorado - Jonathan Zarate DE
I'm the player to watch this year! I'm coming out of retirement. It's been 30 years but I can still play. Just waiting for the district to clear me and I'm ready to go. Been working out every day before work, I walk around the block a couple times, hitting the buffet extra hard to build up my energy.
Coming out of retirement baby! My old jersey doesnt fit anymore but I heard the new ones are more forgiving. Watch out, Rangers going to have a new (rebuilt) weapon!
Jose Luis Herrera
#66 Madison Beeler
....How did Hampton do??????.......seems to me he is in the wrong system for success....It the Cedarious Barflied show at El Dorado......I believe i read a post that he is a run first QB......that played out Friday night!!!.....I don't see Hampton blowing up....because of the system.....
Keep on HATING HATER,because the more you Hate the more God going BLESS him...
... i like Hampton......i believe he is not in a system for him to blow up...like all the pre season hype....
Barfield ran for 235 yards....that equals run first......or...if its by design....then...the coaches know what they have!!
a run first QB!!.....the guys comment about Barfield being short.....well....i don't know how tall he is....so that comment doesn't really change my thoughts.......
Montwood has a QB on the bench that is far better than the starting QB
I will comment on one thing though. I said early on that the best receiver at El Dorado was Hernandez. Stats from the first game proved that. So 19 offers and 4 touches......how long is it going to be like that. Not saying hampton isn't good but dang.....thats below his average from last year which was low.
....eldo likes to run Barfield like he is a 200lb running back.....better hope he makes the season...or that strategy will go right down the tubes....stop Barfield...you stop Eldo......Hampton is a non factor so far.....they are prolly 5 guys not even mentioned on this thread from various teams...that have outperformed half the kids mentioned on this thread....
Please he's much better than he is, the only way the QB now got the job was because of his dad and the coaches being friends.
Keep an eye on Robert Butler # 65 at the Center position. up and coming
Robert Butler at the Center position. Playing for Coronado High School and just a junior
Garrett Slaughter and Alex Chavez
Coronado running backs
Aztec empire real quiet guess the jenkins kid shuttung his son down quietted him. Maybe jenkins should get the offers. All hype
A Bowie fan! Congrats on your season
Glad your son is doing well!
Get that district title
Congrats to your son and his team germ! I've seen a couple of his post's on FB and he seems like a class act!
You people on this forum are the harshest critics, so here goes nothing.
Everyone thinks they're "mijo" is good, including me.
Bad QB mechanics!!!
