Oh my god. Corona has about a 99% survival rate. People will die, most people will recover, some will never know they have already had it. We need to move on. We can’t live in fear. People die from various diseases everyday. I’m not believing the numbers that are being put out. Someone can be dying from something unrelated to Covid but because they happen to test positive now they are listed as a COVID death. Liberals have an agenda to destroy the country and rebuild it as a socialist unfree racist take your gun no religion no moral place that no one will be happy in. They are trying to take way what makes America great. Football and sports in general have a lot to do with our happiness. Let the kids play. Let us cheer them on. Nothing is ever perfect but we can’t keep living like this. Wear masks and social distance and we should be fine.
That is true and funny truth. It's like me saying I used to be negative like 15 years ago but became positive however I recommend to stay 6ft away from because I have an underlying condition of negativity within me. Point is that everyone has an underlying condition of something or another.
It was written in the old old old book 6ft 6ft 6ft mask of the beast.
No football this year
I truly don't see a season this yr. The District my works for is planning on shutting schools down for 14 days if even one kid gets Covid. No way in hell kids are playing.
At this time in the state of Texas more schools are shutting down than are working, The Governor has
admitted maybe he made a mistake by allowing Bars to open as the numbers among 20 to 30 year age bracket
have skyrocketed. The governor and other government officials were and are under great pressure in order to
open the economy hence the opening of school workouts. So if anyone wants to make or rather play the blame game than
blame overzealous football coaches and parents who are panicking because they fear the season might not come to
pass. If new cases are well over a hundred a day how can anyone expect football to move into a full contact capacity.
SISD has suspended all athletic summer activities
I dont think .... should be LOL'ing now, huh?
I guess the "Sheep". we're right.
Are you dense? The long term consequences for even healthy people are not fully known at this time.
Please no politics. So sick of politics. Let's talk football. Go to Facebook to talk politics. Thus a football site. Good luck to all teams and let's have another great football season.
Notice the teams having Covid issues aren't those with 100 kids, its the ones with 30 that were having problems even fielding a program
Into one week and going into week two of El Paso HS Football games and close to 10 games have already been either postponed or cancelled.
Canutillo and El Dorado game has been cancelled
Yes the Coronavirus is still out and about.
NO the student athletes aren't at a "great risk" during football games / practices.
Coaches have protocols that are followed before student athletes are allowed to practice or participate in games. It's when the student athletes are selfish and don't answer their pre screening questions truthfully that problems arise. There is no DEFINED way to find coronavirus in a person until they actually test. Until then, the pre screening and temperature checks are the best defense to keep possible cases away from teams across the city.
When programs are shut down for 14 days due to a positive case, are student athletes REALLY staying home and quarantining? More than likely no. Are parents of these student athletes doing their part to ensure e season by social distancing, wearing masks, and avoiding crowded places? More than likely no.
The virus has put a weird spin on 2020, and I hope that student athletes and their families will take this seriously in order for all involved to have a season and finish it. Will there be more positive tests? More than likely. However, coaches and their programs have to rework parts of practice in order to keep kids at a safe distance for each other according to approved guidelines.
Also, I don't see the city coming in and announcing a shut down of High School sports. If they did, then we better see all the kids and adults out of the city parks as well. I believe this past weekend there was a HUGE softball tournament in town APPROVED and RUN by the city. I don't see much online about that event and how that could possibly lead to a spread?!
