I started thinking about, two of the fastest/greatest weeks of the summer of 1994. In that short of a time period, I met some incredibly fantastic people, learned a ton both on/off the track and competed as fierce as I ever have. I always wonder "what if" had I not had to go back to Columbus, OH so abruptly due to a family emergency. Even though, I had to leave DC Express provided me with the tools to become a successful and contributing member to society. Thanks again. - Jude

Wow! DC Express is still at it, and it is wonderful to see. I had the pleasure of hanging out at the track meet at West Lake High School with Coach Williams, some of the coaches and current members of the track club. It brought back so many fond memories! I hate that I missed the 25th Anniversary Banquet last year, but I will be sure to stay in touch.


I sit back and laugh at the days when Coach Henderson coined me "3 step" because I didn't believe that a person could only take 3 steps in 10 meters!! Well, he proved me right, and working with him was truly a pleasure. Thanks Shiree and Kendra for introducing me to DC Express!!!


It was fun training with and around the likes of Mindy, Alexis, Rasheen, Saudia, Jay (Ivy), Leon, "the Keisha's", Kelly, Janelle, TJ, Dion, Chuck, Quintessa, Yokita, Cali, "the other Monica" etc, etc.


It is a blessing to see that Coach Williams and staff are still positively impacting the lives of some our youth athletes. Participating in sports is so instrumental in preparing an individual for today's challenges, and the community should be pleased to have Coach Williams provide an atmosphere for development, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The early years '89-'92....i think...sooo long ago

WOW...As I reminisce..I give credit to DC Express for being my first of many. I flew in my first airplane, had my first taste of success, met my first set of BFF's, and had my first boyfriend, (although it only lasted 3 days).

I have so many great memories, just writing this makes me feel so good.

Currently, I am an assistant Track Coach for Pebblebrook Track Club, College Professor, Business owner, and Auntie extraordinaire.

Can't wait to re-unite with all the Alumni from my day...special shot out to my relay, Tonya, Denise, Kali, Whitney, and India....

I just wanted to say how instrumental D.C. Express was in my development as a person. It was more than a team, it was family. The coaches were like "track parents." They would help you out any way that they could in order to see you succeed. I remember when I wanted to get better at hurdles (300/400m) and Coach Williams would meet me on Satuday mornings at the track during the off-season to do workouts- just him and I. And off the track, they made sure you were getting proper nutrition and doing well in shcool . They taught me that running track, or making any other personal commitment, took hard work, determination, and dedication. I would not be the person that I am if they had not pushed me beyond what I thought my limits were. It is because of the enless 600s, the "so-tired-I-can't-see-straight" days, and the repeat Golden Coral/ Old Country Buffet dinners that D.C. Express will always have a special place in my heart!

Ron Williams was my summer track coach for about 2 years. It is awesome to see you are still in the game. Thank you for all that you did for me and being a part of making sure I got into college. You geniunely care about these kids and I know that you will do everything you can to make sure they reach their full potential. It is always great to see you.

It was truly a blessing finding this track team and better yet becoming a part of it. The TOUGH but helpful workouts have pushed me further than I could have ever pushed myself allowing doors to open in so many areas. I want to wish my team mates great success and many blessings in the future as we continue our life journey.
