Scorsese, DiCaprio team up again

HOLLYWOOD, March 26 (UPI) --

Hollywood director Martin Scorsese and actor Leonardo DiCaprio will team again to take on Jordan Belfort's pending autobiography, "The Wolf of Wall Street."

"The Sopranos" writer is on board to write the screenplay for the Warner Bros. Picture project, Variety said Monday.

In "Wolf of Wall Street" DiCaprio would play Belfort, a Long Island penny stockbroker who served 20 months in prison for not cooperating in a 1990s securities fraud case involving corruption on Wall Street and in the corporate banking world, including mob infiltration. Bantam Books is to publish the autobiography in September.

Similar to "Catch Me if You Can," "Wolf of Wall Street" would have a key part for a second star because much of the film would trace Belfort's relationship with the FBI agent who tried to turn him into an informant.

Scorsese directed DiCaprio were this year's Oscar-winner "The Departed" and several other films.

Alexandra Milchan will produce the film with DiCaprio's company Appian Way, as well as Scorsese's Sikelia Productions.
