John to headline Clinton fundraiser
NEW YORK, April 6 (UPI) --
British singer Elton John will headline a fundraiser at New York's Radio City Music Hall for U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., her campaign announced. The "Rocket Man" singer's Wednesday night performance is expected to raise more than $1 million to help fund the New York senator's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination, the New York Post said Sunday. Due to the fact that John is not a U.S. citizen, all costs are being paid by Clinton's campaign camp. Tickets for the "Candle in the Wind" singer's performance start at $125 and range up to $2,300, the Post said. The newspaper said special ticket packages were also available for event committee members who raise more than $10,000. Those lucky few will be allowed to attend a private party after the concert where they can meet both John and Clinton.
