The Chicago Thunder will say goodbye to a legend

On Sunday August 23, the Chicago Thunder will take on last year's championship opponent the Leyden Lions at Hansen stadium or perhaps as it is better known "The Cemetery." For those of you who haven't heard, this will be the last regular season home game for Terry Thomas as Head Coach and owner of the Thunder. Coach Thomas has not only proved to be a winning coach on the field, but has also played the role of friend, mentor, and even father to many of his players, as well as coaches, owners and players from other teams.

The Chicago Thunder would like to invite all past players who were fortunate enough to wear the Thunder blue and gold, and contributed to making this organization into the Semi-Pro dynasty it has become today, and to help celebrate Coach Terry's last regular season home game, and perhaps the last home game for the Thunder.

The Chicago Thunder would also like to send an invite to all former players, coaches and owners who were involved with the Chicagoland Football League. It was in the CFL that the Thunder developed into the perennial winner that exist today. So all former Chiefs, Chargers, Force, Horseman, Punishers, Panthers Stallions, and all former teams we welcome you to come out and celebrate the last standing team of the old CFL close out the Cemetery for perhaps the final time.

This promises to be a great game, more details to follow as the game draws closer.
