RAF Katunayake

These pages are a real nostalgia trip.
Ceylon was such an exotic place and the base was a unique environment.
I was at RAF Katunayake Aug 57 to January 1960. We arrived on The Empire Orwell via Suez and left on a chartered Brittania via Bombay and Istanbul. My father was at Senior Tech W J Webb (Bill) and ran the Servicing Section MT. I went to the little school there, which we could see from the front of our Quarters and from the back we could see the SGTs Mess.
