I come from the family line of Samuel the Immigrant who was born in Waldingfield Parva and immigrated to Ipswich, New England in 1635. I have an old family tree document (22\" x 28\") that was produced by John Appleton M.D. of Cambridge (Boston) in 1864. My great-grandfather was John Sparhawk Appleton who left West Newbury, Mass. in 1887 for Simi Valley, California and our family has been there ever since. He was the first Appleton from Mass. to follow Horace Greenly\'s advice; \"Go West Young Man.\"
