I *LOVE* your page on WW2 US military bicycles. It was very informative, and in particular I REALLY loved getting to see the incredibly rare example of an authentic women\'s bike model! Such a beautiful piece of equipment and so rare to get to see. As a female re-enactor, I can only hope I\'ll get to see your bike in person someday. Thank you for all of the work you put into making such a thorough, informative, and fascinating resource for us! Hope to see you around at an event. |

My father was one of the guys during WW2 that became motorcycle mechanics in the Army. Before the war, when he was just 15, he rode Indians and Harleys all over the country during the depression looking for work mostly because they were cheap transportation. When the War started he the taught trainees carburation and riding skills after boot camp until he shipped out to Europe. After the Normandy Invasion and the breakout at Saint Lo he served in the 903rd Heavy Automotive Maintenance Company and was was attached to the 3rd Armored Division. He was one of the guys that welded steel teeth on the from of tanks so they could break through the hedgerows. He told many stories of how the different maintenance companies would routinely steal motorcycles from each other. He continued to ride motorcycles as long as he could for the rest of his life. He taught me to ride as a child in the early 60\'s, and I still ride at 73 years old. I have a few war time photos of him if you are interested. I also have recordings of him talking about the war before he passed in 2005. |

An excellent source of history and information on the WLA motorcycle and other vehicles. Informative and richly detailed. I just added a 1942 WLA,in very good condition, to my stable and this site has been very helpful. :sunglasses: |

Hallo, heb je ergens meer info over de leren geweer houders op de legerfietsen? Lijkt me leuk voor op mn eigen naoorlogse US legerfiets. Gr Eric \'34th Infantry Regiment on patrol in Hawaii. Rifles are carried in leather scabbards on the front forks\' |

It\'s a few years since I last looked at your website, and I must say it is still superb! I own a WLA, which resides with my two other WD motorcycles - a Triumph 3HW and a Matchless G3L. They all ride and operate so different from one another. Chris Orchard, co-author of British Forces Motorcycles. |

As an admirer of WW2, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and military history in general I find this site to be extremely informative. While I am in the process of restoring a Korean War M38 I am always looking for the next project. As an avid motorcycle rider I am naturally drawn to this topic. I also want to make sure I know the subject before diving into it. Excellent site. |
