great website guys, been looking at the burials, which has been a great help to me, I will be visiting llanbeblig church in a few weeks time, i\'m annoyed and upset by the state of the church yard and the lack of its upkeep, ppl have paid a lot of money for these grave stones, in this day and age were ppl are tracing their family history, the ppl who are responsible for its upkeep shuld be ashamed of themselves, some of my ancestors were baptised here and some of the older generation going back to the very early 1800\'s and possibly later are buried there, if you know who is responsible for its upkeep please feel free to email me their address or website as I will be sending my thoughts to them, |

I am researching our family origins. Thomas Edmund Litherland a lithographer and printer in Canarvon migrated to Adelaide Australia about 1890. He is listed in the Canarvon Traders. He was married to Catherine and had 2 daughters |

Caernarvon Traders is a marvelous website, and has enabled me to amass a great deal of information regarding my family. The Parish Chest and its wealth of information has obviously been a priceless source. Can I please congratulate all that have been involved in this gargantuan project. It is however a great pity that the old Llanbeblig churchyard has been left in such a state. The website in itself, however abundant with information, cannot replace the actual experience of visiting the very location .There are many unanswered questions regarding my ancestors and many elucidations literally lie there!! In fact, the answers to many of the questions regarding the persona that inhabited Caernarfon during the nineteenth and early twentieth century are being obliterated amongst the devastation, and this is pure sacrilege. I would find researching such an environment in its current ambiance rather daunting and intimidating. It would be so wonderful if something urgent and drastic could be done now in order to preserve what remains of our heritage and our ancestry. |

Fascinating web site. Very interesting to look at the burial records dating back and the cause of death. All my mothers family come from Llanrug & I am researching my family history. My great, great grandfather & mother, born in 1811 are buried in Llanbeblig cemetry. I can find William listed but not Ellin which is a shame, but I'l keep looking. Thanks. |

I visited Llanbeblig Churchyard for the second time this year and there was no change. My great-great grandmother, great-grandmother, great grandfather are all there but I am unable to find their plot. I think the graveyard is worse than it worse on my last visit. |

Brilliant website. Found burial information for my paternal great great great grandmother. (Elizabeth Davies died 1862, lived Pool St). I'm sure I will find much more. I will be recommending this to my family members, who are helping me compile our family tree. I am going to visit Llanbeblg cemetary, but after seeing the photos I'm wondering what I'm going to find. Thanks again. |

I would be interested to know if some range of dates can be put on the material in the 1841 Canvass book -- or at least one for the election itself -- the entries seem to be comments both before and after. Also I wonder if there might exist a list of apprentice printers for Hugh Humphreys, as I have a relative from Llanbeblig who might have been one. |

I'm looking for family history info relating to an Edwards family. a number of referances to them are on your obituary columns namely Henry a shoemaker of Castle Square who was brother to my Gt Gt Grandfather Griffith Edwards. Their father was John Edwards of Llanbeblig a sawyer who was born 1809 'ish who was married to Ellin ( I think 'Williams' ). He died pre 1841 so doesnt appear on any of the census's.He was christened at Moriah Calvinistic Methodist, Carnarvon according to the LDS site. I'm assuming he would have been buried at Llanbeblig. If anybody thinks this sounds familiar them please contact me. I plan a visit to the graveyard but was horrified by the disgusting photo's and feel I have no chance of locating the grave or graves. I have visited a number of Angelsey graveyards and there are none anywhere near as bad as your photo's. Knowing that the graves I'm looking for are probably a couple of hundred years old I always take with me hand shears, brush, water, and a roll of bin bags just to tidy thing up a bit. I think when I do visit Llanbeblig I'll need a lot more than that. Its so sad that local people can actually abuse such a place and that the local council do nothing about it. Shame on both sides. What about people serving community services being made to clean it up ? Ivor |
