It occurred to me the other day that I still don't know much of anything about my grandfather's service in WWII. Of the results returned in my search, this page had the most information. Raymond Nathaniel Addison never went online a day in his life, but he still shows up in more pages than I do.

Thank you so much for confirming that my 2nd great grandfather William Thomas who married Louvisa Cole. The Quincy IL library found my great grandfather, Jeporth Jeremiah (Jeppie) Thomas. I had been looking for his parents for the longest time. His youngest child, R.B. Thomas, is my grandfather and his son, R.B. Thomas Jr., is my dad. Searching for Talitha Farrar and Wm Merrill

Talitha Farrar was my great great aunt, her maiden name was Bass, she was sister to Keziah Bass, Piety Bass, Sarah Bass and Jerusha Bass my gggrandmother who married William Farrar.

Talitha's first husband was Stephen Farrar, she was born 1818 in Wayne Co, NC and with her sisters shipped to Perry Co, Alabama when they turned 17 (marrying age) by their father Andrew Bass, then living in Johnston Co, NC.

Andrew Bass was patron and mentor of his nephew Uriah Bass who was orphaned at age 14 in 1820. By age 24 Uriah was a rather well to do planter with 4 slaves and a homestead, by 1835 he had homestead 120 acres, bought many more and had over 11 slaves.

In 1848 Rev Elias George led a migration of Farrar's and Bass's and a couple of other families form Perry Co Alabama to Union Parish, La and in that wagon train was my gggrandparents William Farrar and Jerusha Bass Farrar, as well as Talitha Bass Farrar, her children, and Susan Farrar dtr of Keziah Bass Farrar, who died before 1848. My gggrandparents were guardians of this large extended family, evidently William managed to marry off Talitha (her children) to Wm Merrill and
Susan Farrar (dtr of Keziah) to Wm Gouldsby in Union Co, Ar both of them in 1851,

I am descended from Perry Sackett and Ellender Cole. Their daughter Rachel Mahala married Jacob Joshua Stauffer, and they were my GGG Grandparents. Their son Charles John Stauffer married Nellie Rosetta Rice in Greene County, Illinois, and they were my GG Grandparents. Their daughter Inace Jenny Stauffer married William David Downs, and their son David Leroy Downs is my grandfather. I am having trouble finding information on Perry Sackett and Ellender Cole, and their daughter Rachel Mahala Sackett. Do you have any information on them, or where they might be buried?
