Interesting that Oliver Stone never got that in Platoon. He got in about everything else, but no film of a guy stripped to naked and his friends beating the red ants off him. He could have made it a lite moment in that movie. There weren\'t many of those. Good to hear you\'re still kicking Art. 10 guys from our platoon were in Des Moines last summer for the reunion. Missed you.

RED ANTS! Who can forget. They will inevitably take over the entire world! I just watched a very interesting documentary on Amazon Prime Video, which I’d guess many of you have. Called —Fire Ants- an invincible army….done in 1922. Very interesting to find out almost everything about what was often our companions in the Jungle. Ramember not wearing underwear cause of jungle rot? Once without being aware I sat down on what was likely a nest! Ouch! I had to pull off my pants. They were biting me everywhere! Anyhow, jot that info down and watch it if you can. They are amazing creatures.

It is with great sadness that I inform you that my husband, Vincent A. Smith, Jr., passed away July 5, 2025. He always enjoyed receiving the c322 newsletter and was proud to be a member. He is missed greatly by his family and friends.

I was recently honored with my portrait hung at the University of Alabama School of Law where I was a former professor.

My dad Vincent Anderson passed away unexpectedly on 1/15/2026. I wanted share and to thank all of you for being his life long friend and brother. He loved each and every one of you. He was a very proud Vietnam Veteran. I have seen many of his comrades in his slide shows as a young child. He will all be my hero as well as you all be. I can’t imagine what you guys went through. My dad suffered from extreme mental health issues post war, but I never gave up on him. You all are amazing hero\'s and I again thank you for all you did for our country. Vince will be laid to rest on 1/26/2026 at 10:30 at Fort Snelling in MN. Peace and love to you all. Vince’s daughter Lisa
